Only 1 new domestically produced new coronavirus case today. Nine of the new cases flew in from overseas, which tells us the rest of the world still has a big problem.

KM: I’m genuinely curious who you think it is bringing these “imported cases” to Korea. The rest of the world evidently includes Koreans outside of Korea, said Koreans who very well may be (have been) bringing the virus with them on their return to Korea.

Koreans living abroad are the main carrier now. Like the gyopo chick who went to Jeju.

John Henry, that’s correct. And where do you think those Koreans caught the disease? In places like New York and Texas where the local community transmissions are out of control. Over 50,000 are dead now in America with no end in sight. US is now the world’s worst infected place mostly due to ignorance of its leadership and the people who refuse to do their part to stop the spread

Silly Beijing agitprop tool actually believes China’s numbers… or thinks only people in the US are catching anything…

That’s a lot of butthurt on display. Sounds like “Tom” musta got sent back.

And how did they manage to catch the disease, hey, KM? They also failed to take appropriate action.

An astute reader would know that I am not actually advocating the view that all of those who have been afflicted with, or died from, COVID-19 suffered because of their own actions. I am actually mocking the extremist nonsense coming from KM.

So could you please tell me what I said isn’t true?
Point to me what I wrote is an extremist nonsense.

It is hard to argue with success.

Korea has managed this pretty well without lockdowns.

The population has gotten on a unified program of masks, hand washing/sanitizing, reduced physical contact, more staying at home, no large crowds… and it has been enough to overcome the spread.

Congratulations, Korea.

In America, the right is yelling “my body, my choice” and refusing to wear masks because their trust in government is (rightfully) zero. The left is pushing for the arrest of people doing solitary things that have no risk of disease transmission and then taking them to jails that are releasing real criminals to reduce jailhouse cases. It is crazy.

Masks: Back when the belief was the Chinese Coronavirus was primarily airborne spread, the disadvantages of crappy masks seemed to have outweighed any ability for the mask to protect. Now, it appears it spreads through contact, contaminated surfaces, and face touching… so even the crappiest masks are good at stopping the spitters/sprayers/leakers/drippers from spreading their toxin droplets and they discourage face touching.

But masks only really work if EVERYBODY WEARS THEM… as they don’t protect you… they protect everybody from you.

America needs to get back to work and wear masks. Trump needs to push this idea.

Koreans are starting to get lax. Koreans need to wear masks at all times. Moon needs to push this idea.

Koreans need to stop sharing the same jiggae bowl or pot.

The virus will always be here. Masks are, in fact, useful only for reducing the viral load on healthcare workers.

By now, probably 100M Americans have had it and recovered, in adition to the 160K they say have it. By November, we’ll all have had it and ,14% will have died. Masks or no masks.

That’s 0.14%…

J6Junkie: Do you remember that bit about “how to correctly use chopsticks”? Apparently, when one uses one’s chopsticks to get something from a shared bowl, one used the ends opposite the ends one puts in the mouth.

Yeah, right. I’ve been involved with Asia since 1979. I have never–not even once–seen a single Asian do that.

Johnhenry, I see it done every week at church. Maybe you’re hanging out with a bunch of tough guys?
