U.S. and South Korean President Announce that North Korea Will Face Overwhelming Nuclear Retaliation If They Use Nuclear Weapons

This is a pretty easy call for the White House because the American public will be calling for North Korea to be turned into a glowing parking lot of they fired nuclear weapons at South Korea and the U.S. troops stationed there:

South Korea and the United States agreed to take “swift, overwhelming and decisive” action using all of their military capabilities, including U.S. nuclear weapons, in the event of North Korea’s nuclear attack, President Yoon Suk Yeol said Wednesday.

Yoon made the remark during a joint press conference with U.S. President Joe Biden following their summit talks at the White House, outlining a joint statement, dubbed the “Washington Declaration”, that they adopted to strengthen “extended deterrence” against the North’s nuclear and missile threats.

So what has changed since this announcement? It’s the same old same old “promises” that the US will act if South Korea is attacked with nuclear weapons. Not that this surprises me anyway, knowing the horrible negotiating skills of Yoon who is a total embarrassment not only in the diplomatic field but also in projecting a positive image. He should at least get a jacket that’s large enough to fit his fat tub of a lard belly if he’s going to fly around internationally.

If he couldn’t get an agreement to free SK from the nuclear handcuffs that the US has put on Korea, the least minimum Yoon could have done was to get the concession to an agreement that will allow South Korea to reprocess nuclear wastes (as countries like Japan and NATO are allowed to do), as well as freeing South Korea to pursue the development of its own nuclear-powered submarines. South Korea is helping the US in so many fields, at the expense of its own economy, why is South Korea always getting the short end of the stick compared to Japan and NATO? I don’t see Japan and NATO investing hundreds of billions into the US economy and creating millions of jobs, as South Korea is doing for the US. American neocons should realize those shameless G7 countries can’t help the US fight China because they don’t have enough of what the US and China want – that is chips, batteries, technology, and manufacturing, that South Korea can offer to the US. But that South Korean offer to the US shouldn’t come for free. Meanwhile, South Korean youths can’t find decent-paying jobs because all the jobs are moving overseas to US and Europe.

All these fancy words of US protection of South Korea mean nothing when the next US president comes to power and he will demand $5 billion more to defend South Korea or else. Or look at Ukraine. How did the US promise to Ukraine in the 1990’s work out for Ukraine?

How long is South Koreans must suffer to be treated like this?

South Korea needs to throw out everything in the books, swap out all the useless leadership, and it needs someone strong to speak up for South Koreans by revamping and redefining the relationships to make ensure South Korean assets are maximizing the benefits for South Korea.

Yoon has to go now. SK can’t wait another 4 years for the next election. This dud is going to ruin the country beyond repair if it waits 4 more years.

GI Korea, as part of his efforts to cover up the incompetency of Yoon, has left out the part where Yoon promised to Biden that Korea will not develop nuclear weapons and accept that tactical nukes will not be based in Korea.

This is more of Yoon’s incompetent diplomacy where we are seeing Korea give up a lot in return for nothing.

But for GI Korea and the Setnaffarians, this does not matter as long as Yoon keeps their cherished USFK in Korea and keeps them busy with the joint military exercises.

That’s all that needs to be said. I would like to think this announcement will be posted on two giant billboards in the Joint Security Area facing North.
