Korean Lawmakers Calls for Japanese Emperor to Hold Hands and Apologize to World War II Era Sex Slaves

Here is the most hypocritical thing I have read all week:

Moon Hee-sang Source: Spokesperson Office For National Assembly

Japan’s emperor should hold hands with women forced to work in the country’s military brothels and make a personal apology if Tokyo wants to end the decades-old dispute, South Korea’s top lawmaker said.

National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang said in an interview Thursday that Japanese Emperor Akihito — as the “the son of the main culprit of war crimes” — should deliver the apology before his planned abdication in May. Moon was asked how the two U.S. allies could resolve a worsening diplomatic feud fueled by disagreements over Japan’s 1910-45 occupation of the Korean Peninsula, much of it under the emperor’s late father, Hirohito.

“It only takes one word from the prime minister, who represents Japan — I wish the emperor would do it since he will step down soon,” said Moon, South Korea’s No. 2 elected official and a former presidential envoy to Japan. “Isn’t he the son of the main culprit of war crimes?

“So, if a person like that holds the hands of the elderly and says he’s really sorry, then that one word will resolve matters once and for all,” he said.

Bloomberg

So will Moon Hee-sang next call for Kim Jong-un to hold hands and apologize to the victims of the Korean War, something his grandfather caused that was far more destructive than anything the Japanese ever did to South Korea? Or call for him to hold hands and apologize to the families of South Koreans abducted over the years by North Korea? Better yet will he call for Kim Jong-un to hold hands with the families of the victims of the Cheonan sinking and Yeonpyeong Island shelling?

Instead of calling for these apologies, South Korea’s left wing politicians like Moon Hee-sang instead want to pay tribute to Kim Jong-un. The Japanese government should call out these South Korean politicians for their hypocrisy.

Wouldn’t matter if he did what they asked; there will always be South Koreans who move the apology goal line, it’s what happens when your country’s legacy is that of a professional victim.

If I were Korean I’d be demanding endless apologies from the lawmakers. It’s not Japan’s job to provide security for Koreans, it’s theirs and because they’re the sons of the corrupt culprits who allowed Korea to be vulnerable it’s on them.

They’d have an easier time getting the IJN to apologize.

What Japanese did in Asia during WW2 is just as bad as what Nazi’s did and when they did what they did during that time, they did it in the name of their Emperor. Yet they say he is off limit and untouchable.
Japen=Nazi ?
Emperor=God ?
You be the Judge.

That’s a typical fake news, Michael.
Japan made Korean’s population increase
so much. So, definitely Japan=Nazi is false.
Almost all Koreans were slaves for Korean’s emperor before Japan came.
Japan gave them education, thire own lunguage, everything for civilization.
You must check the statistic by yourself if you are not Korean named Michael.

Dear Hate Fake,
You shouldn’t talk about the fake news yourself unless you are the younger generation of Japen who were tought the fake history. Did we Nuke the Nazi’s or did we Nuke the Japen….twice? Did we Nuke the good guys? Are we not talking about the same Era? If you are poor and powerless, have no weapons to protect yourself, one day bunch of Thugs invade your house, killed your parents, rape your sisters and when they are busted, they throw you a hundred dollar bill and you took that money to care for your broken families yet no apology or served time for the horrific crimes, can you say Justice served and all is good? Do you know that they worship their War Criminals? I am a proud American who Have a lots of interest in Asian History and Cultures, not like someone who throws in a random BS. Study the History before you make an accusation.

The lack of actual historical knowledge is painful in certain comments above.

Take your smelly racism outside. It doesn’t belong here.

No people-group is free of jerks. But we can choose not to be “That Guy” online. Being a bigot is still a bad look even without a Klan rally.

Historically, Japen was nothing more then a primitive pirate nation till western culture went in. At that time Japen gladly accepted the new culture and Korea refused foreign culture. That is how they advanced faster than Korea.
Those pirates killed, rubbed and kidnapped the people of Korea and China who lived in towns by the coast line. At that time China and Korea looked down on Japen for their life style and culture.
Yes. there were slaves in Korea but majority were just regular citizens and how they become a slave is not by kidnapping or forced. When the draught hits the nation and they can not put food on the table, parent will give up or sell their kids to rich and or powerful people hopping those kids will be provided with basic necessity which as a parent couldn’t provide. And if they can get paid that means foods for other members of the family. Sometimes they will sell themselves to provide for others. They were never chained and gagged and they were free to roam the town as they do their chores for their owners. Once you are slave that status don’t change and if they get marry (only to another slave) their children will be slaves as well till owner decide to set them free by destroying the contract.
Yes. there were bad owners too.
And when Japen colonized Korea for 36 years they try to destroy all korean cultures and language by burning the Korean literatures and history forcing Koreans to learn and speak only Japanese and if they refuse, Japanese soldiers will torture and kill those who refuse and their family. Koreans have their own language and if you do some research you will know that their language is one of the best.
Also, have you ever heard or learned that Korea invaded any country and violated anyone’s freedom other then their own civil war(Korean War due to Ideology).
Please do not label any of these post as Racism. what I see is a Healthy Discussion. Only Racism in this Forum is Japanese and Nazis at that time.
Labeling Racism on everything you don,’ know or agree is plain wrong, and if you only wanna hear what you wanna hear, you should stay out of this Forum.
What I see here is people talking about what they know, what they believe and who they like. We are all here to share our thoughts and informations.
Happy posting!!!!

2015 Agreement put an end to the comfort women issue stating that both governments of Japan and South Korea confirm that the issue was “finally and irreversibly resolved.” Despite the statement of the
Agreement, National Assembly Speaker Moon Hee-sang made the remarks as if the issue was NOT resolved and required apology from the Emperor, the most revered person from the Japanese nationals. Claims and demands of South Koreans are endless and boundless.

Instead of luring the Japanese to Korea to spend, spend, spend, Moon and his cohorts think that they can intimidate the economic giant of Asia into guilt over a few thousand abused women. The Japanese still have a shrine for the 15,000 or so “nose tombs” for goodness sake. Cash-infused annual apologies like that ain’t bally likely.

And look at how South Korea abuses women! Room salons, bus/train stations all seem to have “those” areas, some with glass windows like the counters where they sell that kitschy mother-of-pearl or topaz tourist crap. Hostess clubs. “Those” barbershops. “Those” coffee houses. Even Kpop uses and discards them. And Koreans in the Japanese army used “comfort women” badly as well.

I think it’s time for Koreans to stop blaming everyone else for the feculent skidmarks in their shorts…

And it’s time for the Japanese to stop pretending they’re any different from anyone else. Their economic rise was, like Germany’s, fueled by having their old infrastructure immolated by Hap Arnold and Curtis Lemay and new factories, roads, bridges, and international customers by American taxpayers.

Both Japan and Korea killed a lot of Americans who, unlike the Chinese or Soviets, rebuilt their treacherous, ungrateful countries. The next ten years are going to show if they’re capable of standing up on their own like adults and resisting China, or if they’re going to allow petty bickering and in-fighting to destroy their ability to defend themselves, like much of the last 2,000 years, and become vassal states or even colonies under the new Xi Dynasty.
