Iran Threatens South Korea If It Deploys Troops to the Middle East
The only troops the ROK would likely send are for defensive purposes and yet the Iranians are making threats against them:
A senior Iranian official has warned Korea against deploying military assets to the Strait of Hormuz, saying any action against Iran would be considered direct participation in the war.
“Any South Korean involvement against Iran in the Strait of Hormuz would amount to direct military participation in the aggression and war against Iran,” the unnamed senior political and security official was quoted as saying by Al Mayadeen, a Lebanon-based news network aligned with Iran and Hezbollah, on Friday.
The official also urged Seoul not to “sacrifice its interests and reputation” by supporting U.S. military operations.

There was a time when South Korea was proud enough to do the opposite of what they were told to do just because they were told.
With today’s Korea, it is unsure.
Trump’s win-win strategy is working.
Iran’s economy is in free fall. And the “you attack a ship, we sink one of yours… plus one” strategy is unsustainable for Iran.
So Iran has to give in before midterms (won’t happen) or escalate in the gulf (can’t happen). The third option is terrorism against America. That runs the risk of voters choosing whoever Trump endorses to support retaliation against Iran.
The thing Americans don’t fully grasp is Iranian leadership is not pro-Persian. They have openly stated they will trade parts of Iran to save Hamas and Hezbollah.
They are the Democrats of the middle east.
It’s sound strategy for the IRGC. They will show false effectiveness. They have threatened the country with the president that said he will not help the United States and the country that had a ship attacked by them who publicly announced that no one knows who could’ve possibly attacked them and only because he couldn’t prove that it was not the United States because it was not the United States so now they will prove they deterred a country that is actually only interested in helping them
