Finland Agrees to Buy $546 Million Euros of Additional K-9 Howitzer Systems from South Korea

Finland has decided to additionally introduce K9 self-propelled howitzers. Finland introduced 96 K9 self-propelled howitzers in 2017 and is expected to operate a total of 208 units by introducing an additional 112 units in this second phase.
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration announced on the 9th that it had signed a second export contract for K9 self-propelled howitzers worth 546 million euros (approximately 940 billion Korean won) with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Finnish Ministry of Defence in Helsinki, Finland. The Defense Acquisition Program Administration stated, “The additional contract was decided after the Finnish military tested the K9 self-propelled howitzer in actual operations for several years and confirmed its exceptional mobility and firepower even in harsh Nordic environments, such as extreme cold and heavy snow.” The second-phase contract volume is planned to be delivered in full by the early 2030s.

No one’s going to buy US weapons anymore due to America turning all the countries into enemies. Why would any European country buy American weapons with kill switches, paying prices that are rip-off deals, at a time when the US has been badmouthing, insulting, and attacking the EU, Canada, NATO, and all allies?
That leaves the only remaining choice, South Korea, who is capable of providing weapons at a reasonable cost, NATO standard quality, generous technology transfer, assistance with setting up weapons manufacturing, and on-budget, on-time delivery of weapons systems. At the moment, all these cannot be matched by any country on earth, except for one country – South Korea.
America, your days under the sun is now over, so don’t make trouble anymore. Pack up and go home, you’re done. You’re needed no more.

Those who want to win will buy US weapons. Those who just need a show military may not.
Despite Finland’s constant domestic manipulation through claims of impending Russian invasion, Finland could likely get by with no military at all beyond issuing every citizen a bedsheet and a sniper rifle.
Countries who like to get involved in occasional foreign adventures and countries that can afford to show off prefer American air power, as there is no real substitute.
Korea will do with weapons what was done with VCRs and cars. Korea will produce high quality weapons at a reasonable cost.
But not everybody wants to drive a Hyundai Pony when they need, or can afford, a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG or a Rolls‑Royce La Rose Noire Droptail.
