In the latest indictment, Yoon is accused of ordering illegal intervention to alter the outcome of the Marine Corps’ internal investigation into the July 2023 drowning death of Cpl. Chae during a flood rescue mission.
Prosecutors say Yoon pressured military and government officials to shield his buddies from being named as suspects; these include:
Lim Seong-geun, then-commander of the 1st Marine Division,
Cho Tae-yong, who was director of the National Security Office,
former Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup,
former Vice Defense Minister Shin Beom-chul,
former Defense Ministry spokesperson Jeon Ha-kyu,
former director of national defense policy at the Defense Ministry Heo Tae-geun,
former legal affairs official at the Defense Ministry Yoo Jae-eun,
former Defense Ministry military aide Park Jin-hee,
former Defense Ministry prosecutor general Kim Dong-hyuk and
former Marine Corps Commandant Kim Kye-hwan.
The special counsel stated that Yoon’s actions undermined the fairness of the investigation and the independence of official duties by unlawfully instructing the Ministry of National Defense and the presidential office to exclude certain individuals from legal scrutiny.

Here is a decent article about the extensive roadblocks to Korea’s nuclear submarine program and how they can be overcome.
The timeframe for Korea’s nuclear submarine is “Yongsan’s Coming!”¹
The biggest roadblock, unmentioned in the article, is if post-Trump American politics changes its mind.
¹Yongsan’s Coming!: When moving Yongsan to Humphries was announced, everyone truly thought that would be next year. The number of Songtan clubs went up at least by 1.5x, rents went up, speculators from Seoul bought buildings at inflated prices, apartments were constructed, etc. It took 10 years and a lot of people went broke and a lot of dreams were shattered. There are ready-to-go 3rd floor clubs in Songtan that haven’t been entered in more than 15 years. The shelves are stocked with DVDs of the 90s and 00s. They are free if you want one. Rent will be amazing for the first year and then normal. You won’t make any money.

No doubt @setnaffa wants the Korean nuclear submarine program to not proceed.
It would ruin his objective of keeping USFK in Korea forever.

President Donald Trump has posted on his social media MAGA app that he will be making a state visit to Beijing in April 2026 after inviting Chinese President Xi Jinping for a state visit later in 2026, following a telephone call between the two leaders.
“My relationship with China is mushrooming!” Trump also wrote in his Truth Social post.

The fact is despite the rhetoric, @setnaffa and @GIKorea are pro-China.
They pretend to be anti-China because they are fearful of the anti-China faction among their MAGA compatriots.
The recent actions by Trump clearly reflects upon the pro-China stance of @setnaffa and @GIKorea.
They see the benefits of being chummy with China but are unwilling to admit it.
