But when they’re $40 trillion in debt, and have a $2 trillion a year (and counting) deficit each year, they need foreign countries to buy their bonds to keep their game going. But since they blew up the world, there are no countries left to play their game, even if they wanted to. Over 33% of the US bonds mature in 2026. Guess who’s going to buy them back when no one can, yup, the US government. That will do wonders for their interest payments as a percentage of the total national budget.
