An 81 year old woman was mauled to death by a bear in her home in Iwate and a man in Tochigi was seriously injured in an attack. The bear bit him on the head and neck. I got mauled by a Japanese bear once.
It wasn’t as bad as I expected.
Once I got it hogtied and on its stomach, I found it was a brown bear.
