Major Objective of Failed Martial Law Decree in South Korea was to Secure Evidence of Election Fraud

It seems like the major objective of the martial law decree was to prove election fraud. If fraud was going on it would seem any evidence would have been disposed of long ago. Additionally why wasn’t legal means taken against the National Election Commission instead of attempting a military raid?:

President Yoon Suk Yeol had conducted a legal review of last week’s martial law decree in person while rewriting it, the ex-defense minister, one of the key suspects in the alleged insurrection, said Wednesday.

Former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun was questioned by prosecutors at a detention facility for the first time since his arrest earlier in the day.

During the five-hour questioning, he reportedly testified that President Yoon conducted a legal review of the martial law declaration by himself, and that he and the president co-wrote the final draft, with Yoon editing part of the content.

Additionally, Kim is said to have assigned duties related to martial law to top military officials on Dec. 1 and attempted to access facilities connected to the National Election Commission to secure evidence concerning allegations of election fraud.

Completely backwards thinking. Yoon needed to secure the political aspect before going off on a wild goose chase for evidence. All those troops sent to the NEC should’ve been sent to the assembly, not that they would have been actively doing much based on reports, but the mere presence would’ve had an impact. It’s sort of insane they were trying to secure a building with probably over a thousand inside it, and thousands more outside, with a few hundred troops.

This is a tangential though. The political justification is that DPK has been acting unlawfully impeaching key government figures on constitutionally baseless grounds, that that constitutes anti-state behavior and treason. The English facing coverage is omitting a lot from what’s being said in the Korean assembly.

Yoon is a devout viewer of the rightwing YouTube channel run by right-wing conspiracists who claim the Parliamentary elections last time were rigged by the Democrat commies. Sounds familiar? Yoon is also a very very heavy drinker, as he gets hammered every night. As an alcoholic with a serious drinking problem, during the last year, he only appeared once on time to carry out his duties. The rest of the time, he’s having his drinking bouts with his hand-picked people. This is all well-known, his incompetence and neglect of his duties as the President is infamous. So he’s living in his dream world, and he still thinks he has a chance to take power. He won’t step down, and he would rather get impeached. Then wait two more months for the Supreme Court where six out of nine judges are Yoon appointees.

But before that happens, he still commands the military because he’s still the President on paper. The Democrats are screaming at the National Police to arrest Yoon, but the National Police are riddled with Yoon appointees who cannot counter their former boss who is being protected by the Presidential Security who won’t let any outsiders to search the Presidential residence. The PPP party members are also protecting Yoon, by not voting for impeachment. They want to delay the process as long as possible because they believe the Korean public will forget about all this in few months if everything is left up in air, and then they can win the election somehow.

Because of these selfish a-holes, the country has no functioning government, and the foreign investors are all leaving in droves, and the Won is crashing. South Korea has lost $70 billion last week in economic losses, and that loss is piling up more and more, as longer the President and his PPP supporters hold out. If they don’t get the f out of the way, the economy could collapse. The military and South Korea’s major institutions are all in shambles. Thanks to the PPP party and their leader.

I really am disappointed in these shenanigans… “Both” sides are so feckless…

South Koreans are going to need to learn the hard way.

The American MAGAs are strange creatures. Instead of blaming the culprit – an incompetent president who resorted to a military coup to hold onto power, they either support the military coup or blame “both sides for the shenanigans”. This is another form of the American MAGA crowd to support dictatorship, as long as they are useful to the US interests. If this was the Minjoo Democratic Party (less useful to the US interests) that carried out the coup, I wonder if they would be this supportive of a military rule. What terrible disgusting people.

Additionally why wasn’t legal means taken against the National Election Commission instead of attempting a military raid?:

As I mentioned long ago, the Judiciary had been denying search warrants.

Information that verifies the integrety of an election should be open. If it is hidden away and efforts to evaluate it are blocked by a judiciary that has an interest in keeping it blocked, maybe the spirit of the nation has been violated and something should be done about it.

If Yoon can prove the election was fraudulent, he did the right thing. If not, he took a risk and lost.

Plot Twist: Like the American 2020 election, it is pretty clear mathematically the Korean election was manipulated.
