Anyone relying on “minimum wage” is overpaid. They are paid for occupying space, not value. And that is so intellectually lazy they should be ashamed to be seen.

Those with initiative and ambition find a way to create a job at a salary they and their employer agree is fair to both. These are paid for value as opposed to just filling a slot. These are superior in every way, regardless of how much or how little their paycheck is.

I bet she doesnt get paid $17.50 (2,600 yen) per hour to do that after the first 12 or 13 million views.

In the US, it depends very much on where you live.
That’s a very meager wage here in Colorado. But it might be great in Alabama.

How would Americans here feel if their wages hadn’t gone up in over 30 years, just like Japan (the only developed country that hasn’t seen any rise in wages over those three decades)? But in Japan, its people are so docile and politically uninvolved that their politicians can do whatever they want and still get elected (by the same suspects) year after year without any repercussions or any pressure to change. Social harmony at all costs, is more important than social improvements. Everything gets swept under the carpet.

Well, frankly, they should feel stupid, lazy, and naive if they worked for the same wage for 30 years.

Over the last 30 years, my wages have jumped about 600%… But then again, I have been actively adding value to my employers, changing jobs when necessary, and not just sitting on my ass like a baby bird waiting for government to vomit partially-digested worms down my gullet.

I had this discussion with a zoomer whining he couldn’t afford to buy a house.

So I looked up some numbers.

My conclusions were:

– Minimum wage has been surprisingly stable over the years compared to the economy. (Though lots of things are crazy now due to the money printing press and associated wealth transfers)

– Minimum wage was never intended to pay for a home and family. It was intended for the lowest level of workers not to get exploited.

– Zoomers CAN afford to buy a house… if it looks like the one my grandparents retired in… two bedroom, one bath, decent working class area. They cannot afford a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath, vaulted ceiling McMansion… which is what they feel entitled to (along with a new car in the driveway).

In fairness, while there are plenty of “starter homes” at affordable prices, you don’t want to live in those neighborhoods. They are not populated by the working class keeping busy and trying to get ahead. They are populated by the expanded welfare class with idle hands looking for the Devil’s work.
