If America showed up and did its best, the simulated war would be over in an hour and nobody would learn anything.
Instead, the foreign air force is given every advantage and the American air force is given every disadvantage.
American pilots get better by being handicapped and the foreign pilots feel good about themselves.
The Filipino pilot was likely top-class and the Korean jet is very good for its class.
