A strength of the American system is the agreement that we won’t jail former presidents as long as they be quiet and take up building houses for the poor or painting.
The past is meaningless compared to the needs of the future. Focusing on the future is a strength.
This strong tradition has been broken by America-hating Obama and by the Democrats who somehow cannot let Trump go.
Though with Trump, it is no mystery. His position is unusual. He is a former president who should retire from the public eye but he is also a candidate with a very real chance of winning in 2024.
That campaign has to be derailed.
Moon should not go to jail as long as he dissappears. Former Korean presidents should be released from jail as long as they disappear. There is no gain for Korea in this petty tit-for-tat.
Korea needs to look to the future and presidents need to concentrate on solving problems without worrying about a jail cell at the end of their term.
