Kim Regime Reportedly Have Put Quota System on North Koreans to Collect Their Poop to Use as Fertilizer

It wasn’t that long ago when in South Korea people were using human waste as fertilizer as well. North Korea is still just stuck decades in the past due to their isolationism:

North Korea is asking its citizens to use their own poop to make manure as the country faces widespread food shortages, reports say.

The country has long sourced its agricultural manure from China, but that trade, along with a number of other goods, ceased after North Korea closed its borders at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a result, North Korea has declared securing enough manure the first “struggle” of 2022, Daily NK reported.

State-run media has also been encouraging people to make “homemade” manure, The Daily Beast reported. A source in North Hamgyong Province told Daily NK that residents had started “producing fertilizer from human waste” after authorities launched a 10-day drive to increase production.

Citizens were told to produce a quota of 150 kilograms of manure, with people working in state factories told to provide 500 kilograms between January 4 and January 14, Daily NK reported.

Produce 150kg of poop per person in 10 days?

That’s 15kg per day.

“Don’t forget to get your 115,500 calories in carbs today so you can make the poop quota, Comrade Kim.”

Hopefully that 150kg was for groups of citizens rather than citizens.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_soil

The use of unprocessed human feces as fertilizer is a risky practice as it may contain disease-causing pathogens. Nevertheless, in some developing nations it is still widespread. Common parasitic worm infections, such as ascariasis, in these countries are linked to night soil use in agriculture, because the helminth eggs are in feces and can thus be transmitted from one infected person to another person (fecal-oral transmission of disease).

Got stuck behind a “fertilizer” dump truck one hot, muggy August afternoon. What a fragrance! There also was a billion flies around the truck. What was worse was those trucks would go around to the community outhouses to pick up the poop, and one guy would climb down into the outhouse with a bucket attached to a rope and the other guy would pull it up and throw it in the truck. Nothing like the smell of Korea when they flung the poop out in the rice paddies!

As if this is new news?

They have had no fertilizers for decades due to US sanctions designed to starve them out.

North Korea has been refusing fertilizers and green revolution high-yielding rice varieties since the nineties.

The Kim Monarchy “fears” that the Chinese may poison the seed grains and the fertilizer.

Ever since Mao said to Kim Ilsung: “Dear Comrade Leader, you have lost many men in this war, you now have many young, lonely nubile women, how about I leave our young male soldiers on the peninsula?”

Kim Ilsung: “(expletive deleted)”.

And that is why there are no PLA troops in North Korea … and why there has never been a Green Revolution … and why human poop powers North Korean agriculture.

“They have had no fertilizers for decades due to US sanctions designed to starve them out.”

America is better than that. If the sanctions were truly designed to “starve them out” there would be a greater than 50% success rate.

The sanctions are probably designed to starve them in.

And they are doing quite well.

Good job, America.
