The U.S. and Japan on Sunday agreed to keep American troops within their bases as worries grew about a sharp rise in coronavirus cases in the country.

The restrictions starting Monday will last 14 days, confining U.S. military personnel to base facilities except for “essential activities,” a statement from the U.S. Forces in Japan said. The Japanese Foreign Ministry released the same statement.

The allies will share information and cooperate on coronavirus measures, “given the extraordinary virulence of the omicron variant spreading throughout Japan,” the statement said.

U.S. military members will wear masks, both on and off base, when outside their homes, and will continue to carry out strict testing before leaving for and after arrival in Japan, it said.

New COVID-19 cases have surged in Japan, jumping above 8,000 on Saturday, a four-month record. The spike has been most pronounced in areas near U.S. bases. Last week, Japan asked the U.S. for cooperation in keeping its military personnel on base.

In Korea its Let’s do the same thing we did the other 10 times that didn’t work, but sure it will work this time. Idiot leadership, following idiotic guidance, no clue what they are doing. Korea back to HPCON B+ which is really C but they don’t want to close the schools….

Japan is angry at the US for being responsible for COVID infections in Japan.

I guess superior Factor-X Japanese genes couldn’t stop the latest surge in Japan.

For once, KM, we are in 100 percent agreement. The Chrysanthemum Crowd aren’t really my friends. My late Mother-in-law, originally from the Wonsan area, told me the (pre-1945) Japanese and (post-1945) Russians/Soviets were nicer than the (post-1950) Chinese; but she thought Korea should be run by Koreans.

She had never spoken with an American GI, so she was non-committal on that subject. But she did like me.

If only there was some sort of Safe and Effective treatment you could take twice and life would return to normal.

If they could get that to all the military members and kick out those who refuse, covid would be a thing if the past like polar bears and snow on Everest.

Is anyone in the military going to look away from tranny crotch long enough to notice the elephant in the room has no clothes?
