Osan Airbase Goes Into Lockdown After Infected Servicemember Attends Large Party
A U.S. military service member at Osan Airbase came down with the coronavirus and attended a large party against current USFK health guidelines has led to a lockdown of the base:
A U.S. Air Force base in South Korea went on lockdown Friday evening after the first service member there tested positive for the coronavirus, the base commander said.
Col. John Gonzales, commander of the 51st Fighter Wing, ordered anyone affiliated with the base to return home and stay put except for food or other essential business. He said the lockdown, or shelter-in-place, may end as early as Saturday.
Gonzales, in a video posted to Osan’s Facebook page, said he was “truly disgusted” at reports the infected service member attended an off-base party Feb. 13, in violation of all U.S. military public health protection orders and South Korean government directives, too. He ordered anyone who attended the gathering at Dream Castle, building 101, rooms 403 and 404, to quarantine immediately and inform their commands.

Someone’s exit strategy from the military just went viral!
From this O-N-E infection, we all got a sample of yet ANOTHER layer of lockdown strategy: USFK locked down Osan; no one can travel to Osan and no one can leave until contact tracing is complete and USFK announces the all clear.
The same thing happened at K16 the day before … over ONE infection. Still locked down today.
Going forward, we know what to expect: Every infection we get now, that installation will go on lockdown: No one in, no one out.

Gee, I wonder why they had a party. The defiance is growing; everyone is fed up with this fascism.
Irony: COVID won’t kill anyone in USFK, the mitigations will.
I now know of roughly 50 people, most over age 65, all over age 40, who have contracted COVID-19 and recovered. There were at least 20 children and teens in the affected homes who never tested positive nor showed symptoms..
Mix of German, Korean, Chinese, Laotian, and Hispanic ancestry.
I’m not saying Winnie’s Flu is a myth, I’m saying it’s not some sort of automatic death sentence. (Unless one already had fatal gunshot wounds, end-stage renal failure, stage 4 lung cancer, or dementia. I don’t know the people in the latter groups; but those are who has been listed as dying of COVID-19 in my area.)
Maybe there is something the authorities are not telling us?
