Missing Yokota Airbase Man Found Dead in the Apartment Building He Lived At

The case of the missing Yokota Airbase substitute teacher just took a dark twist:

Trevor Balint, 34, went missing from Yokota Air Base in western Tokyo in the early hours of Feb. 1, 2021.

The body of a U.S. civilian reported missing more than two weeks ago was discovered Tuesday in the housing tower where he and his wife lived at Yokota, according to the Air Force.

Trevor Balint, 34, of Hubbard, Ohio, the spouse of a Defense Department computer programmer and analyst, disappeared suddenly Feb. 1, prompting a search of the base from the ground and the air. His face appears on fliers, fading now, posted everywhere at Yokota, the headquarters in western Tokyo of U.S. Forces Japan.

His body was found in the east side housing area around 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to a statement on the base website Wednesday. Balint, a former substitute teacher at Defense Department schools, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, according to the base.

Stars & Stripes

You can read more at the link, but the authorities claim they searched the building and for some reason did not spot his body. The family is obviously pretty upset about this. Condolences to his family and friends.

Anybody taking bets that they’ll find that he died of COVID-19?

That or jealous spouse. His or another’s.

Okay. That was unkind and uncalled for. I apologize to everyone who reads it.

Yes Set, go spank yourself.

Meanwhile, brace yourselves for the next series of suicide prevention briefings, awareness training, impromptu commander’s calls (with Chaplain as guest), directions to download the prevention & reporting app, mandated battle buddy/wing-man checks, a new JKO class or two, “people are my #1 priority” speeches, etc. which will all fade into the ether after a few months — until it happens again. Lather – rinse – repeat.

If anyone, my heart goes out to the sorry Security Forces troop who couldn’t find a 180 lbs rotting corpse in a daylight building search. No end-of-tour achievement medal for you.

My guess, based on knowledge, experience, and a few clues…

1. Male dependents are mostly worthless.

2. Wives don’t respect their worthless husbands.

3. Wives who don’t respect their worthless husbands get the D elsewhere.

4. Husbands of wives who get the D elsewhere while sleeping in separate bedrooms get depressed.

5. Depressed people sometimes kill themselves.

If it is more complex than this, it will be surprising.

CH has presented a clear, if somewhat direct, explanation.

For some reason, I had not considered suicide before my earlier attempt at snark; but when the police stated there was “no threat to the community”, that was what they were saying.

It’s a great tragedy and I again apologize for any pain I may have caused to friends and family.

Chickenshit, as always, is an ignoramus and a bigot of, ironically, many stripes.

Johnhenry, I am curious how you can wring bigotry out of informed speculation of the same nature practiced daily by detectives, reporters, scientists, and every other necessary member of a functioning civilization.

I am further curious which item in my chain of reasoning is so wrong that I can be labeled an ignoramus for suggesting it.

I am guessing you have been programmed to think words like bigot, ignoramus, and racist are somehow insulting.

You are wrong.

When you call the thin kid fatty, he just laughs at you.

CH, a standard leftist “tell” is their lack of any sense of humor and an incurable case of guttermouth. Typically, even among those with advanced degrees, a vocabulary of fewer words than the average middle-school dropout.
