ROK Cyber Operations Unit Quarantined After NCO Tests Positive for Coronavirus

I am surprised that the ROK military only has a total of 40 coronavirus cases considering the tight barracks conditions

A noncommissioned officer working at the Cyber Operations Command in Seoul has tested positive for the new coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases reported in the military to 40, the defense ministry said Friday.

The staff sergeant working at the command’s service support unit contracted the virus after visiting a club in Seoul’s popular multicultural neighborhood of Itaewon where a COVID-19 patient visited last week, according to the ministry.

Following the test result early Friday, the military restricted the movement of all service members of the unit, and health authorities were tracing the patient’s possible contacts.

But the ROK military says gays are allowed to serve in the military…..yeah right..

What do Gays in the military have to do with this? Also, what is wrong with Gays serving in the military?

I agree with johnhenry.

Gays in the military are very important.

How else can you maintain a navy?

CH needs to keep the day job. His “joke” was neither funny nor clever. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with war fighting.

johnhenry sounds homophobic or something. The Village People who performed “In The Navy” were certainly gay and made that a critical part of their performance.

Without gays, how else could the Navy maintain it’s hot bunks on nuclear submarines?

CH was not making a joke. He was asking a very serious question.

Of course, in Canada, they probably do things differently.

Still, now that you’ve asked the question, what DOES sexual orientation have to do with war fighting? (That sounds like a bad joke all by itself: along the lines of “Why do firemen wear red suspenders?” or possibly “How do you stop a charging rhino?”)

Johnhenry writes like a gay Canadian sailor.

…or someone defending the precious memory of once having a gay Canadian sailor boyfriend.

…or both.

But I agree.

“Sexual orientation has nothing to do with war fighting.”

…as long as it is kept incidental to identity rather than essential to identity.

And the moment there has to be any sort of “training”, program, or campaign about the ghays, it now has something to do with warfighting (in a bad distracting way).

Johnhenry, BTW, what was his name?

You are waaaaay too defensive. While gays are fun to joke about, it is doubtful anyone here really hates gay people. You should be comfortable to be open and honest with us.

While I am a sailor (albeit a retired PO1), I am certainly not Canadian, nor am I homophobic. There is no doubt that there are those who do hate Gays; that is proven by those who murdered Gays because their victims were Gay. Sexual orientation really is essential to one’s identity. What it is not essential to is ability to perform a military mission.

I honestly did not know the bars mentioned are Gay hangouts. The last time I entered a bar was about twenty years ago. I don’t like the atmosphere of bars (Gay bar, Straight bar, Cowboy bar, whatever bar) and I don’t like the prices for the drinks, especially since I don’t drink alcohol. Another thing that keeps me out of bars in Asia is the prevalence of smoking there.

I’m open, but definitely not Gay. Happily married for just over two years. My wife is a lovely Korean lass hailing from Busan.

johnhenry, are you trying to say there are gay killers (or killers of gays) at the ‘Drop?

Clear, concise communication is requested…

Iran has killers of gays built into local government. Korea, not so much. Who, specifically are you speaking about?

Johnhenry recently lectured us on the wonders of Islam and his good buddies running the show.

How did that go?

“Why would it not end well? There is a large mosque, as stated in the article, already in Yongsan, up the hill from the fire station across the street from Hamilton Hotel. The first President Park granted the land for the mosque. Way back in the late 1970s, I knew two of the senior leaders of that mosque, one foreign and one Korean.”

Now he lectures is on the wonders of homosexuality (and his implied good buddies running his private little show, ifyaknowwhatimean).

To answer your previous question, Islam is the poster child for homophobia. It sometimes even ends with fags being thrown off buildings. They aren’t real big on women’s rights either. The bigger it gets, the more it happens… and the more they start pushing their repression on those around them. Islam NEVER ends well.

But, to your credit, you are an elegant homophobe and misogynist to let Islam do your dirty work while you support them with nothing but love.

In the end, you simply show your true mind.

You are just another Social Justice Cuck.

If it isn’t a successful straight white Christian male, you can’t get enough of it… even if the hodgepodge of values completely conflict.

And that shows that YOU have no values except to be against an archetype highly overrepresented in building today’s successful modern world…

…in a typical Social Justice Cuck ôrgy of self-destructive ideals and actions.

Normally, I wouldn’t care. But, sadly, there are a lot of social justice cucks who logically cannot process statements like “Islam is right about homosexuals”… and they vote.

…and they vote for people who thrive on generating conflict by empowering those who cause the most conflict.

And America doesn’t need that.

In the end, women have equal rights to men (and somewhat fewer responsibilities). Minorities often get special treatment if they make a minimum effort. Almost nobody cares about homosexuals who aren’t out screaming how homosexual they are. Islam is free to worship as they wish as long as they are not engaged in violence and repression.

Everybody needs to STFU and GBTW.

And social justice cucks need to self-regulate their conflicting lectures in stupidity.

johnhenry, you may not have meant to say/imply/insinuate anything; but then why bring up murder? It really looks to your audience as if you want to tar all of us with that brush. Not fair at all.

Now, if you were merely being theological, you could quote the Lord when He told people that those who hated others had, in their hearts, already committed murder. But you don’t really come across as a Southern Baptist Preacher.

This good-natured ribbing does need a point, so I will try to help. Thank you for your service.

I’m not Southern Baptist. I did grow up in the South, but I’m LDS.

Any reasonable reading of my post will not provide the tarring you say. Why bring up murder? Simple: Gays have been murdered solely for being Gay and I provided that as an extreme example of homophobia. And I reiterate: I am not homophobic. Nor am I tarring anyone on this forum with that brush.

Another poster is doing a good job of displaying his Islmaphobia, though.

ChickenHead

You grew up in the south?

That would be Windsor, Ontario… had no idea there were Southern Baptists there.

Anyhoo…

More gays murder other gays in a year with a nice dose of Anàlly Injected Death Sèmen than all the rednecks and homophobes and bigots in their combined efforts over the entire course of American history.

…although the Religion of Peace emissary shooting up the gay nightclub certainly gets an honorable mention, as he also beat out decades of all the rednecks and homophobes and bigots combined.

Pointing a finger of blame at straight white Christian-ish men seldom works… unless you want to blame them for record lifespans, reduction in global poverty, walking on the moon, etc.

But no reason for so much Islamophobia on my part, since I’m not actively pushing the wrong prophet and I’m really only gay-for-pay.

However, everyone who doesn’t want to live as a Muslim should have just enough Islamophobia to insure they don’t get a strong presence… as they then become a nuisance. And if they are allowed to dominate, you get to live like a Muslim… if you still have a head.

Exhibit A: the world
Exhibit B: history

But Canada is a (somewhat) free country so you can believe what you want…

…though you apparantly cannot defend those beliefs with a rifle anymore.

CH, the Canuckistanis don’t allow one to quote certain parts of the Bible, either. And as far as I can tell from my travels and those of my business partners, every large Metro area up there has a “no-go zone” patrolled by the local sharia police. Not as bad as Dearbornistan; but still problematic if one of the locals takes a fancy to your possessions.

Which they will soon have in Itaewon, because “reasons” and “shut up you racist”.

“Elections have consequences,” said President Obama. South Korea is going to have exactly what they voted for.

That’s not Islamophobia. That’s just what is. It’s not my job to enforce religious purity. Likewise, although my town has multiple mosques, schools, and so on, it’s not my job to protest, rage, or make eloquent arguments.

I just try to share what I believe. All the rest is up to the listener. I admit to praying for many of you. Not as often as I should; but I want you all to prosper.

Take your lily white àss out to a reservation and see if it feels like a no-go zone. If not, try again at night.

But not sure how that will work with johnhenry, being a person of color.

I’ve been to three different reservations for work and play. Best not to be arrogant, don’t pretend to understand their struggle, and don’t try to “whitesplain”, “blacksplain”, or any other ” ‘splain” to them.

They’re decent people; but they will not take condescension or disrespect well. Kinda like most people.

Back on topic, it is looking more and more like a targetted attack:

“South Korea has seen a surge in the number of confirmed virus cases linked to Itaewon after a 29-year-old tested positive following visits to multiple clubs and bars in the multicultural neighborhood.

Some 80 enlistees who reportedly visited Itaewon before joining the military in the past two weeks have all tested negative for the virus, according to the ministry.”
