Huge Protest Against President Moon in Seoul

This rally was so big that even the left leaning Korean media could not ignore it:

Hundreds of thousands of mostly elderly citizens gathered in Gwanghwamun Square and streets near City Hall and Seoul Station, Thursday, to vent their discontent at the Moon Jae-in administration, calling on Justice Minister Cho Kuk to resign over corruption allegations leveled against him and his family.

Conservative civic groups and political parties ― including the main opposition Liberty Korea Party (LKP) and minor ultra-rightist Our Republican Party ― set up side-by-side rallies along Sejong Street. The protesters waving Korean and American flags marched from Seoul Station to Gwanghwamun Square blocking traffic at certain locations.

The huge turnout ― on a national holiday ― was sparked partly by a rally in southern Seoul last Saturday, where more than 1 million people, according to the organizers, condemned the prosecution for its “politically charged” investigation of Cho’s family.

“Mostly elderly citizens”? What a shame! Don’t the younger people care or realize what Moon is doing to the country?

Not a miilion at the pro cho ralley. That was an utter and complete lie by the communist controlled media. Also like how the article is dismisive of the rally as it was only “old” people…another lie too.

Totally agree with Flyingsword. Definitely a lie from the government and the media. As media is censored by the government, with Korea Times being an unreliable and biased source. College students and the younger generation are definitely upset by the current political state of affairs. Not to mention the gap between survey by Real Meter and this massive protest.

Korea Herald said the demographic was largely older, but that student groups were present with school banners. Photos show a wide age range. More students will no doubt join in the future.
And what’s wrong with oldsters? They are the same age as the Blue House residents. And think what those people and even older achieved in bring Korea to this level. Not to be taken lightly.
Meanwhile, Democrats are putting up a counter rally next, providing free bus tickets (and who knows what else).

The only question is whether South Korea has a way back to democracy. The elections will show us.
