Seoul to reflect public opinion in deciding on food aid to N. KoreaLee Eugene, deputy spokeswoman of the unification ministry, attends a press conference at the government complex in Seoul on May 10, 2019. I would suggest that aid should go to the South Korean elders around 55 percent over 65 r living in poverty. They worked there fingers to the bone to make a South Korea what it is today. Just my opinion.

So NK will be getting the food after Moon rigs the public opinion in his favor?

NK is perfectly capable of food independence. They don’t need food aid any more than the US does. There ain’t much the norks can’t grow on their own. They are perfectly capable gardeners and farmers. For example, their goat farming techniques are exemplary according to 38 North; thus, those regions (and schools) have ample goat milk, cheese, yogurt, meat, etc. That’s just goats; ditto for sheep, chicken, pigs, you-name-it.

Recall that Hyundai founder, Chung Ju-yung, sent 1000 hanu (beef cattle) to North Korea in 1998 in an effort to help President Kim Dae-Jung with his Sunshine Policy. Properly managed (and they know how), that herd should be 30,000+ by now.

They are skilled fishermen who use their 1500 miles of coastline and 3 major rivers for maximum output.

Point is: They’re not hungry. And the south is getting suckered again.

For the past 20+ years, since Sunshine, the south has been sending a steady stream of aid packages…and for what? What has been the return on this investment? Is anyone tracking? How many nukes do the norks have now? 200? And how long will the south continue pouring money into this losing Ponzi scheme?
