I would venture to say no one forgot. But then, no one mourned overmuch, either.

The victim was not exactly known for his activism in promoting democracy in North Korea, rather he chose to spend money faster than a port full of drunken sailors…

It’s sad that he chose that path. A less flamboyant life might have caused his brother to ignore him.

Set,
People forget he was the heir apparent until he was busted for using a fake passport to visit Disney Tokyo. Daddy tossed him out of the north and started giving Kim Fatty the Third a crash course in dictatorship and repression. Of course after he was tossed out he started talking democracy and non familial succession in North Korea, but to your point not loudly or often. He just played the rich playboy role to the hilt.

And China was keeping him safe to use as a Kim family figurehead incase Fatty III got out of hand.
