Increased wages and prices have caused fried chicken, a favorite snack among South Koreans, to go over ₩20,000 (approx. US$18). Naturally, sales have fallen.

They never really existed in significant numbers. They were just a media creation for the purpose of pushing the government-promoted idea that everyone in society couldn’t wait to start paying higher prices for everything… and if you didn’t agree, YOU were the strange one that didn’t fit in.
