Tweet of the Day: Interview with Thae Yong-ho
|Great interview with former North Korean official Thae Yong-ho. One big takeaway relevant for US summit: Kim can’t reform NK into a benign state without risking collapse https://t.co/zQ0IenCKQ0

A report from Captain Obvious, eh? Not very many former totalitarian leaders (communist, fascist, Monarchist, or Islamist) survived the transition of their country from what they ran to even Pseudo-Democracy.
Too many abuses of power, too many underlings unwilling to let go, too many enemies among the people. History is riddled with their mutilated corpses.
One like MacArthur (Emperor of Japan) or Yeltsin (Gorbachec) might be needed as a peacemaker or interim leader.
Fatty is a survivor. I’d be more worried about me (Thae) and my family being repatriated by the Communist government in Seoul.
