Rain today, expect not many left…
This rain probably killed them all off. Should have held it last weekend.
I was in Korea in early April 2013 and IIRC the blossoms survived a couple of strong rains. Of course, we traveled down to Daecheon; but there were pink cherry blossoms and they yellow flowers everywhere we went…
I always recommend finding neighborhood blossoms or the Main post ones near the PX gate. The festivals are just crowded like a subway car. Not pleasant at all.
Agreed! We went to Daecheon’s fish market with one of wife’s middle-school friends (very nice BMW ride from Seoul) on a Wednesday lunch and had a great time avoiding everything “popular”… Heading back north took a lot longer; but we were in the Bucheon (where other friends live) in time for a late dinner.
I love Korea and in spite of being an opinionated old white guy, seemed to fit in well with Christians, Buddhists, and Atheists. We were all there to celebrate 30-year-old friendships. We discussed religion, politics, and North Korea without anyone getting upset.
I wish we could do that everywhere.
