FBI Will Not Press Charges On Hillary Clinton for Mishandling Classified Information

I am sure everyone saw this coming, but I am still surprised she wasn’t at least fined like General Petraeus was for mishandling classified information:

FBI Director James Comey makes a statement at FBI Headquarters in Washington, Tuesday, July 5, 2016. CLIFF OWEN/THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

The FBI won’t recommend criminal charges against Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server while secretary of state, agency Director James Comey said Tuesday, lifting a major legal threat to her presidential campaign.

Comey’s decision almost certainly brings the legal part of the issue to a close and removes the threat of criminal charges. Attorney General Loretta Lynch said last week that she would accept the recommendations of the FBI director and of career prosecutors.

“No charges are appropriate in this case,” Comey said in making his announcement.

But Comey made that statement after he delivered a blistering review of Clinton’s actions, saying the FBI found that 110 emails were sent or received on Clinton’s server containing classified information. He said Clinton and her aides were “extremely careless” and added that it was possible that people hostile to the U.S. had gained access to her personal email account.  [Associated Press]

I’m sure she will still have her security clearance revoked though. 🙄 😆

What other conclusion could the average person come to except that some are above the law?

Comey even stated that others in the same situation could face administrative actions or lose security clearances.

How will she be allowed to handle top secret information as President?

Sad… while I was expecting this to be the outcome I held faint hope that on some level Hillary and her team would be held accountable in any fashion for not only mishandling the information but the more important issue of purposefully conducting high level state business in secret. That this sort of nonsense is allowed makes me wish all the more for a zombie apoc…

The Rule of Law is important.

But it seems the Rule of Law does not apply to the “ruling elite”.

That swings both ways.

It is now correct to kill Hillary Clinton, as it is within the ethical and legal framework she has promoted.

Let’s just hope it isn’t done with a gun… as that would shift the focus away from WHY it was done and onto HOW it was done.

I don’t understand how they can say lack of intent., even though I don’t believe the code states intent is necessary.

How can she unintentionally set up a server which takes classified information and transmits it outside of accepted, secure channels? There is nothing unintentional about the way she violated the law.

It’s a farce. Like you said, this was all but inevitable. There may be political consequences but I doubt it. By default, half of America is asleep at the wheel.

Well, she “didnt’ know”. How could she be expected to know about security protocol as Secretary of State?
And over a decade ago Powell used a private server for some stuff…so Hillary can too! Maybe she could’ve used eighties security protocol. Think of the cost savings!

(bet there was never any evidence they were hacked either)

Hillary is above the law.

Hillary is no longet part of the law.

Hillary is no longer protected by the law.

Kill Hillary.

It makes sense to me.

If I commit a crime, from speeding to drunken rape, but have no “intent”, certainly the law will not be reinterpreted for me. Right?

Sure, Comey (head of FBI) doesn’t want his ladyboy porn habit exposed to the world… so he goes along with the program of the ruling elite… which wants a tool like Hillary in office… but that doesn’t make it right. Does it?

@GI, roger that.

Of course I am not making actual death threats against Hillary… nor did the wording suggest that I intended to.

…but it would be a good conversation to consider if those above the law should be protected by the law.

It really appears the FBI director clearly stated the legal conditions were met for Hillary to be charged… yet she was not being charged.

Speculation ranges from him being corrupted to his real ploy being to keep her in the election and give a gift to Trump with the ammuntion he needs to sink her.

Who knows?

Will she be able to get a security clearance as president… or will she be treated like anyone else who had been “careless” with classified material?

Likely, she will again be above the law.

The bigger elephant in the room is how she funneled information on German bailouts of Greece to her Greek debt hedge fund-running son in law.

…but nothing will happen… as she is above the law.
