Girls and Guns. I like it so much that I ordered one.

Yeah…like, fifty years ago. If an officer wore that during a television interview today he would be summarily canned.
I can’t understand why he wore that as a television spokesperson for this project, honestly. Was it party shirt day at work or something? It’s kind of unprofessional and inappropriate for the context.
As a side note, maybe he should stop drinking soy lattes. I’ve heard that stuff can make a grown man cry at the drop of a hat.

I’d take a pair of scrubs in the ‘denim wrangler’ pattern there.

Moral of the story: Wear whatever you want ’cause whiners gonna whine.
Any woman offended by a scientist wearing a geek fantasy does not have an opinion that counts.

Two last things I’ll say about this guy.
First. He’s European. They can’t always be expected to conform to American standards of what is appropriate to display as art, aesthetics, or sexuality.
Second. He’s a scientist; a group that been historically been portrayed a certain way for a reason. Some haven’t developed the ability to recognized many of the social cues most of us take for granted. Watch The Big Bang Theory.
Those two excuses aside, he should at least have had some friends to pull him aside and tell him, ‘Hey, dude. You’re going on international TV today. Change your shirt.’
I agree with both Liz and JoeC on this issue. For a historic landing like this that shirt is not appropriate for TV or even the daily workplace. With that said the piling on attacks against this guy who help land a probe on comet is over the top. I am sure his superiors in the ESA when they saw him on TV probably made phone calls about appropriate attire. The piling on against this guy by the usual suspects is what bothers me. Like the article said Neil Armstrong would have been vilified when he landed on the Moon with today’s PC police.
I guess we could all buy the shirts and wear them in some sort of anti-faux outrage solidarity movement.
Like Trayvon’s hoodie.
That would actually be pretty funny. If only the thing wasn’t so ugly….
