New Seoul CIA Chief Takes Over
I tend to agree with the Asiapundit, that the the next Seoul CIA station chief must be a hottie because female Korean spies are always hot in the movies:
It was learned Wednesday that a Korean-American woman, identified by her family name of Han, has taken over as the new station chief of the US Central Intelligence Agency in Seoul. This is the first time a Korean, and a Korean women in particular has assumed duties as head of the CIA station in Korea. Officially, there is no organization going by the “CIA Korea station.†Instead, the Office of Regional Study inside the US Embassy plays the role of CIA station here in Korea.

I hate bringing this up ad nauseam, but I can't help it. If this lady's American, then she can't be "Korean". We never refer to a Caucasian American as "an Englishman" or whatever. I'm not being overly sensitive here. How we label or categorize certain people or groups has ramifications that are not always readily discernible. If her last name were O'Connor, would we say, "this is the first time an Irish woman became head of the CIA station in Korea"? Americans of Asian descent have been in this country since the mid-1800s, decades before the millions of Germans, Italians, and Irishmen who immigrated to the U.S. via Ellis Island. Yet, a lot of dumbass Koreans and even some Americans (of all ethnic backgrounds) continue to regard Americans with Asian faces as "foreigners" in their own country, somehow not quite as "American" as the "genuine" (i.e. white) Americans. I'd just like to say "Fuc* you" to those stupid enough to think that. With the exception of a few (ok, more than a few) misguided and pathetic "Asian pride" freaks, I'd like to think that most of my fellow native-born Americans regard the "Old Country" (be it Korea, Japan, China, etc.) the same way Caucasians in America regard the "Old Country" (be it Scotland, Greece, Poland, etc.). I don't know who's more annoying: the people here who ask me where I learned English (yeah, I know, boo hoo, but it's still annoying) or the Koreans who insist I can never be "100%" American because of my face and that I should "love" Korea. Uh, no. Germans never insist that the Schmidts and Muellers of America should "love Germany" because of their blood ties (regardless of whether they go back one generation or six). Unless they're Nazis. Too many Koreans think like Aryan supremacists. Then again, they believe in fan death, so what do you expect. It's all about the "minjok".
On the other hand, as much as I love America and everything it stands for, I'm still wondering why the tens of millions of Italian Americans and German Americans weren't placed in internment camps during WWII (aside from the fact that it would've been a major pain in the ass to do so). It's interesting how nearly every single traitor in American history (from Benedict Arnold to Alger Hiss) was a Japanese American. I hope to God some Korean dude never pulls any stupid sh*t in the U.S, because I don't want to find out how much or how little we've progressed in the past 60 years (although I suppose Arab Americans can give us an idea). Still, America is the best damn country on the planet, and I'd rather deal with ignorant sh*t here (easily avoided if you stay out of the boonies) than in the Hermit Kingdom. Of course, nothing I say here will make a difference. If I only knew enough Korean to piss off all of those Korean "netizens". (I can imagine the reaction: Uh muh! A fellow "Korean" who loves America and doesn't give a flying fuc* about Korea? How absurd!) So I continue on my quixotic quest to rid the world of a$$holes. C'est la vie. (Wow, this rant had almost nothing to do with the post. My apologies.)
