KCTU Members Raid the Geoje Mayor’s Office

The KCTU is acting like a bunch of spoiled little kids again:

KCTU protesters in Seoul.

In a democracy, violence is strictly forbidden. When people’s lives and a nation’s security are endangered, the government can exercise state violence — in a limited way. Yet in Korea, even when labor union violence exceeds a permissible level, the government sits on its hands without taking any action to punish it.

On Wednesday, union members of the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) in Geoje, South Gyeongsang — a local chapter of the militant umbrella Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) — occupied the office of Mayor Byun Kwang-young and turned violent to protest the government’s selling of the insolvent shipbuilding company to Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), one of its competitors.

The union members threw out couches, tables and documents, and plastered the office walls with leaflets and stickers reading “No to the government-enforced merger!” and “We cannot accept the merger with our rival!” What makes us dumbfounded is the attitude of Mayor Byun and city officials, both of who simply looked on with folded arms.

The unionists raided the mayor’s office on the grounds that he did not clearly express opposition to the sale. Last August, the government-owned Korea Development Bank (KDB) decided to hand over its entire 55.7-percent stake in DSME to HHI. DSME has so far been bailed out with 13 trillion won ($11.5 billion) of government funding.

You can read more at the link, but could you imagine what would happen if someone raided the Mayor’s office like this of a medium sized city in the US? The SWAT team would probably be called in.

Since the KCTU knows the Moon administration is in charge they have been emboldened to do things like this because they know they can get away with it with little to no repercussions.

“…but could you imagine what would happen if someone raided the Mayor’s office like this of a medium sized city in the US?”

Well… if they were leftist protesters, there would be lots of hesitancy and indecision… followed by begging… followed by a feeble show of half-hearted force… followed by agreeing to their demands if they promise to leave… all out of fear those targeted would not be labled a fascist racist and have their home address and children’s pictures spread online with encouragement to do harm.

“A raucous group of Occupy ICE protesters held a City Hall stairwell for more than an hour on Wednesday afternoon, at points locking arms to block foot traffic and bumping chests with police officers who sought to clear the way.

They left only after winning the promise of a Friday meeting with Mayor Kenney to address their demand for an end to all city cooperation with the federal immigration enforcement agency.”

Update:

“Philadelphia will stop giving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement access to a real-time arrest database”

“The decision not to renew Preliminary Arraignment Reporting System, or PARS, the shared law enforcement program where Philadelphia police log information about arrested people, came ahead of a meeting with Occupy ICE activists who had blocked a stairwell in City Hall Wednesday to demand a meeting with the mayor.”

So they got their way and the mayor expedited the process to avoid further intimidation.

Disruptive leftist protesters need some Kent State treatment and traitorous anti-American politicians need to be publicly hung while those who voted for them need time in the reeducation camps.

Chickenhead is correct, leftist groups get away with anything, supported by a leftist central power government. Now if you are a group that questions government control of your freedoms you will likely be arrest or shot.
Arrested didn’t work:

CH, you and FS have our overlords and betters all wrong.

They’re just trying to make money off the perpetually aggrieved, the looters, the moochers, and anyone with a pulse that can be bused to several precincts, and provided appropriate fake IDs on voting day.

They’re doing it for the children, you know. Those who missed being slaughtered in their abortion abattoirs.

Trump has them all worked up now. They’re even eating their own kind.

They should be occupying Commie Moon’s office. That small town bumpkin mayor didn’t approve any mergers.

Had something like what CH quoted in KY, protesters blocked the elevators at a non-government building used by the ICE court to hold their hearings. Being private property and that the building had other non-government tenants; police were dispatched and carried the protesters to the paddy wagon. Of course the local news outlets offices were closer (and forewarned by the protesters) than the officers called and the paddy wagon dispatched so apparently it was on the evening news.

Peaceful protest is an important part of democracy.

Violence against fellow citizens, private property damage, and blocking the right of way (such as major streets and highways) should be punished severely.

Looters and vandals in action should be shot. It should be clear that those in the highway, or their estate, will be liable for any front bumper damage.

I am ALL for sticking it to the Man… but not when it hurts other citizens. The American left has crossed the line and needs a bit of cautionary violence directed at them to make it clear where that line is.

CH, when the government “hires” the moochers and looters, paying not only to vote; but also to political opponents, Westerners get all uppity. Confucian cultures tend to be more submissive and groupthinky

This looks like SA tactics. Much like leftist tactics in Oregon, the police stand by.
