I am getting the distinct vibe that the dude who calls himself KingSejong on Twitter really just isn’t happy in South Korea. He writes as though he and he alone should be an object of veneration by all who have chosen to drive a taxi.

He mocks their distress. I just smiled and took one of the black taxis. No chanxe of being insulted, cheated, or otherwise abused. And unless you’re going from Osan to Paju (i.e., should be on a bus anyway), the price is still more reasonable than Midtown to SoHo.

I would have expected less juvenile prose; but this year the gloves are off most lefties.

How are the fares these days? When I left, I think a regular taxi was still under 3000 won for standard short fare.

Try getting that rate in the US.

Honestly, I took way too many taxis because it was so cheap. It added up. By the end of my tour, I started walking a lot more.

Seoul taxis have gotten a little more expensive and a lot better. There’s more mechanisms to report them for being jerkoffs than in the past.

Taxi drivers are people too, some are bad, some are good, and they need to make money in a very difficult environment to support their family.

This asshole who lumps all taxi drivers together as bad is no better.

I just wish the taxi drivers would learn the gas pedal isn’t an all or nothing option….
