Norks want talks. Were we not negotiating with the Japanese even as the attack on Pearl Harbor took place?

Didn’t Neville Chamberlain hold a paper in his hand, with the signature of the German Chancelor, that guaranteed peace for their time?

As I have said before, KJU is in charge. MJI is sucking KJUs little ****. KJU sends two delegations headed by an evil witch and a murdering Warlock and MJI treats them like royalty, and even pays for it.

WARNING blood is thicker than water. South Koreans and North Koreans are all Koreans. The US and JPN will get screwed.

Glad Munn didn’t put Ivanka in an uncomfortable position and force any meetings on her.

Just more stalling by the NORKs.
“Joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States can be postponed further amid growing signs of the resumption of the long-suspended dialogue between Washington and Pyongyang.

Chances were slim for the resumption of U.S.-North Korea talks before the Olympics, with both sides exchanging aggressive rhetoric.

But on Sunday, Kim Yong-chol, who leads North Korea’s high-level delegation, showed the regime’s willingness to hold dialogue with the U.S.”

OK, my wife is getting herself all wrapped around the axel about our son on this issue:
http://askakorean.blogspot.com/2012/06/military-draft-quandary.html

The unintended consequence of the 2010 law that, all of a sudden, it created a large number of Korean dual citizenship holders who did not even know that they were dual citizens. If you are a draft-eligible age, and you realized only recently that you were in fact a dual citizen, you cannot even renounce your Korean citizenship because of the 2005 law. The result:  we have a messed up situation in which diaspora Koreans, who may have never visited Korea and not speak a lick of Korean, may be draft eligible for Korean military. He can enter Korea freely, but may get stopped at the airport on his way out of Korea, like all other draft-eligible male Korean citizens.

OK, the boy barely speaks any Korean (He can order samgyupsal and a beer for me), and has no real intention of coming to Korea for more than a family vacation. How does Korea just stick my son with a Dual Citizenship status?

I asked about this a while ago, but as the boy gets closer and closer to draft age, it’s beginning to become a concern for her. She’s thinking he won’t be able to get a security clearance in the US government or military if he’s a Dual Citizen, and that he could be drafted if he comes to Korea.

MTB, my advice is to talk with the Korean Consulate and if necessary hire a lawyer.

Well, I checked with our security officer. No problem for my son at this end. He can join the military, take a government job, or do anything that requires a security clearance without any issues.

Now to make sure he doesn’t get drafted when we go visit halmone in Seoul for Chusok…

I feel bad MTB. Hope he doesn’t get snatched and conscripted. Might just be better to stay away from Kimchiland until his draft eligibility falls off.

South Korea’s role in the Vietnam War getting renewed attention.

In April, the two-day People’s Tribunal on War Crimes by South Korean Troops During the Vietnam War will open in Seoul, focusing on the Phong Nhi and Phong Nhat massacres, and the killings in Ha My. Organizers said they plan to use the material gathered in the unofficial hearing to help bring a damages lawsuit against the South Korean government later in the year.
