Im Jong-seok Furious that the Prosecution is Questioning Him for Corruption

What is incredible is that Im is claiming this is a political prosecution against him by Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl when Yoon was hand selected by President Moon just back in July for the position. So how bad must the corruption be when Yoon is moving forward with this prosecution after being hand selected by President Moon and then having his deputy prosecutors replaced by the Moon administration in an effort to cover this up?:

Im Jong-seok, President Moon Jae-in’s former chief of staff, voluntarily faced the press on his way to be questioned as a criminal suspect Thursday and attacked Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl for conducting a politically motivated investigation of him.

Im, who served as Moon’s chief of staff from May 2017 till January 2019, arrived at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office in southern Seoul around 10 a.m. and addressed the press before entering the building. Im was questioned by prosecutors about an allegation that top Blue House officials abused their power to influence the Ulsan mayoral election in 2018.

The presidential office is accused of masterminding a police probe against then-Ulsan Mayor Kim Gi-hyeon of the opposition Liberty Korea Party (LKP) in order to help Moon’s friend, Song Cheol-ho, win the race. Song and 12 others were indicted on Wednesday on charges of election law violations.

Before anyone starts shedding any tears for poor Im remember he is the one that led a group that tried to bomb the U.S. embassy in Seoul and once served as the bagman for the Kim regime in North Korea.

Corona Virus Found to Have Spread to 11 People in South Korea

More cases of the coronavirus are identified in South Korea:

Concerns are growing over further spread of the new coronavirus here, especially person-to-person transmission, as South Korea reported five more cases in just one day on Friday, bringing the total here to 11 despite stepped-up quarantine efforts.

Of the confirmed cases, four are presumed to be potentially human transmissions as they had not traveled to China and other nations recently.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), the country’s seventh case involves a 28-year-old South Korean man who visited Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, and returned via the Chinese port city of Qingdao on Jan. 23.

He did not show any related symptoms upon arrival at Incheon International Airport, west of Seoul.

Ex-ROK Justice Minister Suspended from Seoul National University

Considering all the scandals surrounding Cho Kuk it makes you wonder why Seoul National University wanted him back in the first place:

Cho Kuk

Cho Kuk, former justice minister indicted over an ex-vice mayor’s bribery case, was suspended from duty as a professor at Seoul National University (SNU) on Wednesday, officials said.

The university said it has decided to impose an administrative action against Cho, who resumed his job as professor of the SNU law school in October 2019 after stepping down from the justice minister post following a scandal involving his family.

“As of Wednesday, we decided to relieve him of his duty on the judgment that it would be difficult (for Cho) to normally carry out his job,” the university said.

28 People Being Monitored for Coronavirus Infection in South Korea

Hopefully the number of people infected doesn’t get any worse:

South Korean disease control authorities say 28 people are being monitored for suspected coronavirus infection, but there have been no additional cases since the country’s fourth patient was confirmed Monday. As the disease rapidly spreads in China, top diplomats from Seoul and Beijing discussed ways to fight the outbreak together, including the evacuation of Koreans from Wuhan, the epicenter of the crisis.

USFK Reimposes Spending Caps at Commissaries in Korea

The removal of the spending cap at USFK commissaries in South Korea did not last long due to the black marketeers:

The U.S. military has reimposed monthly commissary purchase limits in South Korea, less than a month after a retiree was banned from bases over black marketing allegations.

The new policy, effective as of Jan. 23, means that commissary shoppers will again be limited to $800 for the main sponsor and $300 for additional family members per month. Anybody who needs to spend more must request an exception from squadron or battalion commanders.

The decision was based on purchasing trends showing that most authorized shoppers stayed “well below” the limits since the purchasing cap was lifted in September, U.S. Forces Korea said Tuesday in announcing the decision on social media.
