Kim Yo-jong Wants a Korean War Peace Treaty Is the U.S. & ROK Capitulate to Their Demands

Here is what Kim Yo-jong had to say about the recent comments for a Korean War peace treaty by ROK president Moon Jae-in:

Kim Yo-jong

The powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said Saturday that her country will take steps to repair ties with South Korea, and may even discuss another summit between their leaders, if the South drops what she described as hostility and double standards.

The comments by Kim Yo Jong followed a similar statement she issued Friday that the North was willing to resume talks with the South if certain conditions were met.

Analysts say North Korea is using South Korean President Moon Jae-in’s desire for inter-Korean engagement to pressure Seoul to persuade the Biden administration to ease crippling U.S.-led sanctions over the North’s nuclear weapons program or suspend combined U.S.-South Korean military exercises.

You can read more at the link, but North Korea knows time is short to get a deal done with no guarantee of the Korean left maintaining the ROK Presidency next Spring. With the various negative issues surrounding the Biden administration, the Kim regime maybe thinking the U.S. might be eager for a foreign policy “win”, by cutting a deal with North Korea for little to nothing in return. We have seen past U.S. Presidents play this card before.

Canadian Hostages Released By China in Return for Reduction in Charges on Meng Wanzhou

If anything comes out of this prisoner swap, I hope it is the world takes notice that the Chinese government is willing to take foreign nationals hostage to free their criminals:

In this photo released by China’s Xinhua News Agency, Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou waves as she steps out of an airplane after arriving at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport in Shenzhen in southern China’s Guangdong Province, Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021.  China, the U.S. and Canada completed a high-stakes prisoner swap with joyous homecomings for two Canadians held by China and for an executive of Chinese global communications giant Huawei Technologies charged with fraud, potentially bringing closure to a 3-year feud that embroiled the three countries.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau hugged diplomat Michael Kovrig and entrepreneur Michael Spavor on the tarmac after they landed in Calgary, Alberta early Saturday. The men were detained in China in Dec. 2018, shortly after Canada arrested Meng Wanzhou, Huawei Technologies’ chief financial officer and the daughter of the company’s founder, on a U.S. extradition request.

Many countries labeled China’s action “hostage politics,” while China accused Ottawa of arbitrary detention. The two Canadians were jailed for more than 1,000 days.

You can read more at the link, but ROK Heads may remember that one of the exchanged hostages Michael Spavor was a Kim regime favorite for his North Korean travel operation. I would be surprised if he will try do any North Korean travel trips ever again after this.

10% of New COVID Cases in South Korea are Breakthrough Infections

This makes sense that there would be a rise in breakthrough infections considering how many more people in South Korea continue to get vaccinated. Plus most of the breakthroughs are from the Johnson & Johnson one shot vaccine that has a lower efficacy rate than its mRNA counterparts:

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said Thursday that more than 5,000 COVID-19 breakthrough infections, mostly among young men who received Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine, have been detected as of Sept. 12.

According to the KDCA, 5,880 people tested positive for COVID-19 after being fully vaccinated with the one-shot vaccine.

This means 40.2 people per 100,000 fully vaccinated patients have been subject to breakthrough infections. By age group, people in their 30s made up the largest ratio, of up to 110.1 per 100,000. (……)

From Aug. 29 to Sept. 11, 10.2 percent of new cases, or 20,895, were believed to be breakthrough infections.

By vaccine type, people getting Janssen shots made up the largest portion, with 161.2 out of 100,000 testing positive, followed by 33.5 people receiving Pfizer jabs, 27.6 receiving AstraZeneca and 24.2 receiving Moderna.

ROK Presidential Candidate Says If Elected He May Ask U.S. to Bring Back Tactical Nukes to Korean Peninsula

Yoon Seok-youl may be interested in bringing U.S. tactical nukes back to South Korea, but does the U.S. want to do this? If the U.S. military needs to use nuclear weapons in response to a North Korean nuclear attack it seems a submarine would be just as effective?:

This pool photo, taken on Sept. 22, 2021, shows Yoon Seok-youl, the front-running opposition presidential contender, announcing his election pledges on diplomacy and security issues at the central office of the main opposition People Power Party (PPP) in western Seoul.

Yoon Seok-youl, the leading opposition presidential contender, said Wednesday he will demand the United States redeploy its tactical nuclear weapons here and have nuclear sharing with South Korea if national security is threatened by North Korea’s nukes and missiles.

Unveiling 11 election pledges on diplomacy and security issues, former Prosecutor-General Yoon said he will make efforts to strengthen the Seoul-Washington alliance to deter the North’s evolving nuclear and missile capabilities.

Yoon of the main opposition People Power Party (PPP) said he plans to seek consultation with the U.S. over the process to bring in U.S. nuclear strategic assets, such as intercontinental ballistic missiles, when emergency situations occur on the Korean Peninsula.
