With the proliferation of ballistic and cruise missiles by North Korea and China it only makes sense for the U.S. Army to respond by deploying systems in response. What is interesting about this is that the Army is using U.S. Navy missiles on their own land-based systems:

 The United States will deploy ground-based launchers capable of firing SM-6 and Tomahawk missiles in the Indo-Pacific region soon to address rising security threats, the Army Pacific commander has said. 

During his visit to South Korea, Gen. Charles Flynn said the U.S. Army has developed “long-range precision fires,” listing the SM-6 interceptor and the maritime-strike Tomahawk as missiles that could be launched from the new launch system.

It marks his first confirmation of the types of weapons systems to be fielded in the region this year. 

“That system will be deploying into the region soon. Where and when it’s going to go, I’m not going to talk about that now,” Flynn said during the interview with Yonhap News Agency at Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, 60 kilometers south of Seoul, on Saturday.

It looks like this news anchor went on a bender a little to early in the day:

JIBS, a private broadcaster on the southern island of Jeju, has started disciplinary proceedings against one of its news anchors after a live news segment led to public outrage, with accusations that the anchor was under the influence of alcohol while on-air.

The controversy unfolded during the “8 News” live broadcast on March 30, when anchor Cho Chang-beom exhibited difficulty when pronouncing words and displayed unnatural behavior, raising suspicions among viewers.

During the broadcast, the anchor struggled with pronunciation, notably stumbling over a sentence about the start of election campaign material distribution. He fumbled words like “candidate promises” and “voting precautions” multiple times. There were moments when the screen remained without any commentary from the anchor for roughly 7 seconds.

I am actually surprised that more people haven’t done this over the Chinese North Korean border:

Rare photos and footage from inside North Korea taken by a civilian-operated drone launched from China gave a glimpse into the daily lives of people in the reclusive state.

A civilian with Reddit username XiaoHao2 shared 12 photos and three video clips of the northwestern border city of Sinuiju. The border city is located in the northwestern region of North Korea and faces the Chinese city of Dandong across the Yalu River, also known as the Amnok River.

The user titled the post, “Drone pics of North Korea, I was in China, my drone flew across the border,” adding that the photos and videos were captured using a Chinese-made DJI drone. The post was upvoted 14,100 times in three days.

The footage was recorded in 2020 during the pandemic lockdown, according to the account holder that posted the images. A handful of images show North Korean residents looking up at the drone. A few seem startled by the drone crossing into North Korean airspace.

Here is a Korean product that will now be available in USFK commissaries:

CJ CheilJedang has begun selling its new dumpling products inside United States military bases in Korea, where dumplings with Korean meat are prohibited. Personnel there are forced to import from the U.S. in accordance with military regulations, said the country’s major food company, Monday.

CJ has recently released three new vegan dumpling products into the market here. With its latest move, the company said it has acquired more flexibility regarding its shipments to USFK bases which, up until now, had depended solely on Schwan’s Company, its American subsidiary.

CJ on Sunday launched its new Giant Dumpling product with original, japchae and kimchi flavors under Bibigo, the company’s flagship brand for frozen dumplings. Prior to the launch, the company hosted a tasting event for the products at USFK bases for three days starting Friday. One soldier who tasted the japchae-flavored dumplings said that it tasted just like a dumpling that had ground beef in it, according to the company.

The company stacked the products in commissaries of four USFK facilities in Korea. For security reasons, the U.S. military declined to identify which bases have chosen to stock the products. Each product is priced at $6.43.
