Tweet of the Day: This is Just an Average Day in Itaewon

Blackness is all they’re got.

When a skinhead celebrates his race, it is a display of desperation and mental illness grasping at an unearned and possibly meaningless identity.

This also applies to black people who have nothing more to offer than black skin.

Black pride is as meaningless as white pride except it is more associated with failure and can be ridiculed more strongly.

Pride in race is wrong. Racism is wrong. So when black people start being proud of nothing more than black skin, I tell a black joke so two wrongs can make a right. That’s just science.

I have no particular pride in my skin color, but as a strong indication of my likely behavior, I am quite proud of my “white culture” because I earned my place in it.

What does that mean? Well, off the topnof my head…

I studied when I sometimes would rather have been playing sportsball.

I understand and practice the concept of delayed gratification.

I chose work over theft to get the things I want.

I reject dependency when I am capable of supporting myself.

I value education, competence, and useful knowledge.

I show up on time and keep my commitments.

I take responsibility for the consequences of my choices… which ensures i put thought into my choices (usually)

I save for the future instead of consuming everything today.

I maintain the things I own instead of neglecting and replacing them.

I respect other people’s property because I expect mine to be respected… and I will enforce that with violence

I solve problems rather than merely complain about them… but I love to complain

I cooperate with others when cooperation benefits everyone… becasue some projects require something larger than myself

I compete fairly and accept that others may outperform me.

I judge ideas by evidence rather than by who says them.

I admit when I am wrong and change my mind when the evidence requires it.

I control my impulses rather than allowing my impulses to control me.

I distinguish between what I want and what I actually need.

I prepare for predictable problems before they become emergencies.

I learn useful skills rather than making helplessness part of my identity.

I value honesty because trust makes cooperation possible.

I keep my word even when keeping it becomes inconvenient.

I treat strangers with basic civility until they give me reason not to… though covid showed me that 80% of the population is too stupid to consider full human and some smaller percent wants to push their programming and mental illness off onto me and should be responded to with dismissal rather than civility… and violence if they keep coming

I respect competence and achievement wherever I find them.

I do not resent another person’s success merely because I lack it… i learn from it and try to apply what i observe

I try to leave things better than I found them… pick up your trash and maybe a bit more

I think beyond today, beyond myself, and beyond immediate gratification.

I understand that freedom requires responsibility.

I expect rights to be accompanied by obligations.

I believe that being useful to others is a source of dignity… my self worth comes from my tangible accomplishments

I understand that civilization depends on millions of people doing ordinary things reliably… and I ridicule those not contributing to society and resent those trying to tear it down

I produce more value than I consume.

I accept that no society can prosper if everyone demands more than they contribute.

I understand that good habits repeated across generations become successful culture.

And I practice introspection and self-evaluation so I am aware of these values and when I occasionally fail so I can take corrective action.

So what?

We all have better things to do than be concerned about foreigners prancing around Itaewon.

Considering how much some right-wingers are whining, they seem to be the ones acting oversensitive—not the liberals they keep accusing of being ‘gay.’

Thing(s), thank you for helping me set a new record of -11. Combined with whatever it was before, this seems to be a swing of over 20.

That level of attention really means a lot.

And it is really nice to see the level of resentment you have for the values and habits of successful people.

You have been dropping a lot of unflattering clues about your true self.
