State Department Official Says China Trying to Draw a Wedge Between the U.S. and the ROK
Like many countries it appears Korea is trying to hedge between the U.S. and China instead of choosing sides:
The United States is ramping up pressure on Korea to stop using Chinese technologies and remove regulations deemed unfavorable to American companies, with a senior U.S. official saying Tuesday that Seoul has to make a choice in the face of adversaries undermining the alliance.
In a prerecorded video at the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea’s (AMCHAM) annual Doing Business in Korea seminar in Seoul, Michael DeSombre, assistant secretary for East Asian and Pacific affairs at the U.S. Department of State, warned of China’s moves to drive a wedge between Korea and the U.S., calling the world’s second-largest economy “a regional adversary.”
“The Republic of Korea has a choice to make,” he said. “I am confident it will continue to choose trusted partners, transparent systems and technologies that respect privacy, security and the rule of law.”

That’s rich, coming from a country that slapped 25% tariffs on South Korea, demanded and got $350Billion in free money, and lambasted Korea for not sending suicide ships to the Hormuz Strait after starting another one of those forever wars while shutting down the entire world economy with no oil.
That’s funny, considering the US has done its best to piss off the Koreans, if not the entire world. What a hypocritical country. You’re an isolated country that nobody even likes. Your country has an even worse reputation than China.
Look at the Gallup poll results yourselves if you don’t believe me; the US is now hated more than China, and this was last year, before the Iran War, when the US shut down the world.

“Look at the Gallup poll results yourselves if you don’t believe me; the US is now hated more than China”
Hahaha! You are such a choad.
– this was from 2025
– it asks for approval and disapproval, not hatered
– the highest approval rating was under Obama who was American history’s biggest America Last president… of course he was approved of
America slipping to a new low in approval means America First is doing its job and all the retard countries are sour about it… including yours.
The countries that understand America First cannot be fought but can be managed will be the ones that succeed.
Korea has adapted through behavior modification and is moving forward. Canada cries with no plan beyond crying louder.
Those numbers need to better reflect the anger of even more unwilling global compliance to Make America Great Again.
Perhaps the price of oil is nowhere near enough.
It needs to at least be high enough the fake ecotards quit whining about needing more oil and start supporting nuclear.
When are those ground troops going in? We’re still waiting.
“When are those ground troops going in? We’re still waiting.”
Every time you give up on one dead end topic to chase another, your full cognitive surrender brings joy to my face.
When I see your next topic is equally dead-ended, my expression of joy becomes more pronounced.
So, let’s consider your question.
When do YOU think is a good time to send those ground troops in? And where is a good place to send them?
The Korea Thangs are a gift that keeps on giving…
Why not send them now? You’re expecting other nations to send them, so why isn’t the US sending them?
Mad Bob, do you even think back a couple of conversation turns before you speak?
“Why not send them now? You’re expecting other nations to send them, so why isn’t the US sending them?”
The question is not “Why not send them now?” They question is “Why send then now?” Don’t answer a question with a dumber question.
America has no expectation for other nations to send ground troops. Like all your sensational but fabricated claims, you are always welcome to post a link.
“…so why isn’t the US sending them?”
You still don’t understand the concepts of:
– America First
– China’s oil availability is not America’s problem… quite the opposite, in fact
– Iran is losing 500 million per month in petroleum sales that others have to cover and America is the world’s largest oil exporter.
– time is fully on America’s side in every way. Doing nothing but a cheap, simple, and low-risk blockade benefits America… and benefits more the longer it lasts
But to answer your question, the time to send in ground troops will be to take oil terminal infrastructure to ensure cooperation with American energy companies.
But that day may never come, as cooperation might happen naturally.
