President Lee Calls for an End to the Iran War Based on Peace and Universal Human Rights

Here is the latest groveling from President Lee:

President Lee Jae Myung on Tuesday urged nations involved in the war in the Middle East to take a courageous step toward peace, with a fragile ceasefire deal between the United States and Iran hanging in the balance and threatening the global economy.

Speaking at a Cabinet meeting, Lee asked “the warring parties to take a courageous step toward peace that the world desperately wants based on the principles of the protection of universal human rights and lessons from history.”

Yonhap

You can read more at the link, but why wasn’t President Lee speaking up for human rights when the Iranian regime was busy gunning down protesters? Now that the U.S. and Israel are doing something about the regime that supports terrorism and guns down protesters does Lee suddenly care about human rights.

You would think the Korean left who are the ones who champion the memory of the 1980 Gwangju Uprising would side with protesters demanding a better life and government. Then again the Korean left is the same group that makes excuses about North Korean human rights abuses as well. At least the Korean left is consistent in their hypocrisy.

Again and again, Lee is an extreme populist with many faces. This talk about human rights is just a veil that he and the Minjoo party only brings up when it conveniently supports their agenda. Same thing with Dokdo. It’s all a facade.

Because the US and Israel attacked a country illegally and waged an illegal war on civilians and civilian infrastructure. The US and Israel killed 165 Iranian schoolchildren and thousands more civilians. Not only that, the US and Israel have wrecked the global economy by pushing Iran to close off the Persian Gulf.

Why aren’t the US ships sailing through Hormuz? Why aren’t there any US ground troops in Iran right now? Why is Mr. Orangeman demanding that other countries do something that he himself is not doing? Where are the US Navy ships and ground troops? Didn’t he claim the US won the war? Then why is the Strait closed? Answer me that, Trumpsters. Nobody asked you people, to start a war in Iran. Nobody asked you to do this, and you took it upon yourselves to blow up the world.

Mad Bob… keep being mad.

“Because the US and Israel attacked a country illegally”

No they didn’t.

“and waged an illegal war on civilians”

No they didn’t.

“and civilian infrastructure.”

Not yet… but it is not “illegal” to target civilian infrastructure with the right conditiins… so when it is done, it won’t be illegal.

“The US and Israel killed 165 Iranian schoolchildren”

An unfortunate byproduct of Iran hiding military assets in civilian infrastructure… but not always.

“and thousands more civilians.”

The UN says 1300. Activists say 1700. Unfortunate. Nobody is doing it intentionally. As a balanced adult, ask yourself how many civilians have been killed by Iranian-funded terrorists. If this is collateral damage to end Iran’s long-term killing of civilians, it is a valid expense.

“Not only that, the US and Israel have wrecked the global economy”

That doesn’t sound like an America First problem. Somebody should do something about it.

“by pushing Iran to close off the Persian Gulf.”

Mommy drinks becasue baby cries. Iran can open the Persian Gulf. They were “pushed” to do nothing. Letting oil pass to Korea doesn’t change the situation… though NOT letting oil pass is “pushing” America to blockade Iranian ports in the same way Iran is blockading Arab ports and global energy traffic.

“Why aren’t the US ships sailing through Hormuz? Why aren’t there any US ground troops in Iran right now?”

Sounds dangerous. Sounds unnecessary.

“Why is Mr. Orangeman demanding that other countries do something that he himself is not doing?”

What do you want him to do? America is an oil exporter. And at these prices…

“Where are the US Navy ships and ground troops?”

Again, dangerous and unnecessary.

Didn’t he claim the US won the war?

The US did win the war… nuke program physically stopped, missile manufacturing stopped, conventional military obliterated. Mission accomplished. The war is over for America. Sadly, it looks like there needs to be another war between those dependent on Gulf oil and those who are blocking it. America is quite generous in offering to stick around and assist if anybody wants to do more than complain. Maybe there will be a political settlement over nukes and missiles and long-term Gulf passage guarantees. Maybe not. There might be regime change. Or not. It seems like some of this would be important to some nations. Maybe not. Did I mention that America has oil for sale? America even has Venezuelan oil for sale. It is almost like Mr. Orangeman and his cronies had a plan.

“Then why is the Strait closed? Answer me that, Trumpsters.”

Because the true stakeholders do nothing but complain, which benefits America.

“Nobody asked you people, to start a war in Iran.”

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition. America is a nation of motivated self-starters. You don’t need to ask. This goes double under the America First policy.

“Nobody asked you to do this, and you took it upon yourselves to blow up the world.”

I am looking out my window right now and I see an unblown up world. I have been as close to Iran as the Black Sea since the war started and the world there was also not blown up.

Your complaint is even more foolish when you include hyperventilating hyperbole.

All the metrics you like to complain about are temporary…

American stock market is almost fully recovered from pre-war record high… meaning, even with this war, it is better than this time last year.

Oil is at 91, far lower than 115 when Biden blew up the world and destroyed the economy and all the other things you complain that Trump is doing… but for zero gain… typical America Last policy… especially the American middle class that has not yet recovered.

You will have lower blood pressure if you understand that every decision under Trump will be:

– America First
– have clear goals, which may not be apparent to you, perhaps intentionally
– based on longer-term thinking than today’s stock quote, today’s oil price, whines from Canadians, etc.
– designed so negative effects are felt by the world more than America
– designed so recovery is quicker for America than the world

Your concerns are secondary… both to America and to sensible Americans you whine to.

Now that you know the situation, it is time to quit being a little bìtch victim and start deciding how you can take advantage of the situation.

Whine to your nation with this much enthusiasm, as it has a better chance of creating positive change than whining to us about things Trump does that we cheer on because it is in our best long-term interests.

Pay more attention to the stock market and break the normal no day trading rule. It’s not hard to stay slightly slightly ahead of the suckers who are behind the news in this much volatility… even with super conservative trades, I am up a few thousand dollars since this all started… certainly enough to cover an increase in gas prices.

Soooo… your complaints are meaningless to those who benefit in the short term and appear will benefit in the long term in this new blown up world.

Maybe you need to spend more time on you.

Quietly.

Didn’t your supreme leader promised no more foreign wars? What happened there?

Is the Iran war legal?

https://factually.co/fact-checks/politics/is-war-with-iran-legal-international-law-9425bf?utm_source=chatgpt.com

Executive summary

The short answer: under prevailing readings of international and U.S. law, the February–March 2026 U.S.–Israeli campaign against Iran lacks a clear legal justification and is widely judged unlawful by many experts and lawmakers, though some individual strikes may comply with the laws of armed conflict and the United States retains political shields at the U.N. Security Council (UNSC) that limit formal international enforcement. Domestic constitutional questions are also acute: legal scholars and bipartisan U.S. lawmakers argue the president exceeded war powers by initiating major hostilities without an Authorisation for Use of Military Force (AUMF) or a congressional declaration, even as the Senate failed to pass a war-powers resolution to stop the strikes.

“Didn’t your supreme leader promised no more foreign wars? What happened there?”

As we discussed, Iran is not a “war”. His supporters understand that military actions for specific goals are not what he was talking about. Trump supporters are proud of America quickly solving problems with military mite but they don’t want open-ended occupations. Trump is very aware of this.

Sitting off the coast and attacking with air power will be tolerated by Trump supporters for a very long time, even with minor losses.

“Is the Iran war legal?”

The first thing you need to do is stop thinking in terms of “legal”. Is it legal that Bill Gates pays less tax than you?

There are teams of pro-American lawyers in government and military making sure everything they want to justify is “legal”. There are teams of anti-American lawyers yelling about something or other.

It is all a meaningless game.

But you answered your own irrelevant question.

“the United States retains political shields at the U.N. Security Council (UNSC) that limit formal international enforcement.”

So it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks about illegality, including you. Best let this go. You have zero traction.

To address your American legal concerns, you clearly have not been paying attention since 1973, or back to the Korean war.

Trump can do what he wants. All the limits, like 60 days, have established workarounds. The only things that can be done are:

– congress stops military funding, which ain’t gonna happen

– congress passes a resolution to end the war (requires both house and senate since INS v. Chadha… so blame an illegal Kenyan in 1983 for making it hard to stop a president from bombing other countries)

But here is the catch… if congress passed a resolution to end the war, Trump can veto it. Then it needs 2/3 to override the veto.

So, you are at two dead ends.

International Law means nothing (and American action can be justified enough). American law fully allows what Trump is doing.

ProTip: Teams of lawyers work all this out enough to justify what they are doing. Despite cries from the opposition that make the news, nothing changes because the justification is enough within the circles that have to deal with it even if it doesn’t fit your utopian worldview.

ProTip2: if you want to change minds, without any bias, list Trump’s goals, what is correct and incorrect, what has been accomplish beneficial to America and the world, what has not been beneficial, any failures both so far and likely long-term, and what you would do differently and what different results you would expect and why.

Going on about “illegal” has no purpose.

LOL… Mr Orange Jesus Christ wannabe just wrote on his Truth Social that the Pope should be put in prison for insulting the USA, and that he should be the new Pope.

What an absolute lunatic, he’s not going to go to heaven if he keeps on blaspheming God.

Mad Bob,

I am encouraged to see you have accepted, if not agreed with, America First and all it entails.

I am also glad to see you change the subject away from the dead end concepts of war, illegal, and international law.

Now, let’s talk about this and see where it goes.

“the Pope should be put in prison for insulting the USA, and that he should be the new Pope”

This continues a trend where you post claims claims that are so sensational they should make the news. But they don’t.

This indicates you might have misunderstood something somewhere.

To clear this up, kindly link Trump’s Truth Social post and put the exact sentences into quotes.

I am trying to decide if the right wing main stream media is suppressing this outrage or if you just made it up because you have nothing else to complain about as Trump keeps winning and talking trash while he does it.

Mad Bob, here is some government in action that reaffirms what Trump is doing in Iran is constitutional and legal.

“The US Senate voted 52–47 to block a resolution aimed at preventing further US strikes on Iran without congressional approval.”

Congress has just approved Trump to keep bombing without congressional approval.

The Lord and the government work in ways that are strange to us.

But they work.
