U.S. Treasury Secretary Says South Korea Came with It’s “A-Game” and Expects a Deal Soon
|That would be pretty impressive if South Korea becomes one of the first countries to secure and trade deal with the Trump administration. With that said what will be interesting is if it stays in effect when a new President takes over Korea:

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described high-level trade talks with South Korea in Washington on Thursday as “very successful,” noting that Seoul came with its “A-game” and anticipating that the allies will discuss “technical terms” as early as next week.
Bessent made the remarks in an interview with CNN, after he and U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Jamieson Greer met with Seoul’s Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok and Trade Minister Ahn Duk-geun for their “two-plus-two” trade consultations at the Department of the Treasury.
“We had a very successful bilateral meeting with the Republic of Korea today. We may be moving faster than I thought,” Bessent said, referring to South Korea by its official name.
“We will be talking (about) technical terms as early as next week as we reach that agreement on understanding as soon as next week. So the South Koreans came early. They came with their A game, and we will see if they follow through on that,” he added.

Sounds like those PPP traitors are going to give away the house.
Trump and company wouldn’t expect anything less, if they’re that happy.
No matter, once the real government comes to power in June, this ‘deal’ will not last, just like how Trump signs a deal with one country and breaks it six months later.
As always, the totally-not-a-chinabot-thing complains about any move that could help South Korea.
He should read a book…
Korea Thing(s) always say Trump is stupid and doesn’t know what he is doing and America is going to fail…
…and then complain he is going to take advantage of everyone.
Pick an outcome and stick with it.
@setnaffa and the Setnaffarians are pushing for a deal where America is the only beneficiary and Korea ends up losing.
Of course considering the mind set of the Setnaffarians, it is obvious considering that they want an extremely one sided deal that only benefits America to justify the economic disaster that Trump has created.
We Koreans should hunt down these MAGA scoundrels and teach them a lesson they will never forget.
Only then will they think twice before messing with Korea and Koreans.
How wrong you are.
In America-Korea conflict, it is better for both to win.
This is in contrast to Israel-Palistine where it is better for the world if they both lose.
And, of course, in Russia-Ukraine, the future has always been clear. Russia and America win, the EU loses, Ukraine gets looted by everyone, including other losers.
Where things get interesting is Iran. Unlike most Arabs, the Persians like America far more than their government. Hopefully that is considered.
And how wrong you are, Maggot. Trump doesn’t believe in a win-win result. It has to be America-win, everyone else lose. Anything different, that’s “ripping off America”, as he says.
Like I said, you cannot negotiate with someone who will break any deal he makes. This is like the third or fourth deal that Trump has broken with Korea. Too many to even count.
Plus, there are growing suspicions that Trump has dementia and is unfit for office. You cannot negotiate with someone this sick and rambling in self-delusions or lies (maybe he does believe all that he claims?).
Trump DEMENTIA hits SHOCKING new level

As for Scott Besent’s claim that something might be signed by next week, that’s also turned out to be a lie (something that’s becoming all too common with Trump’s administration).
South Korean negotiation team said, they’re looking more like July.. which would be after the new Lee Jae Myung government comes to power. So I don’t worry that they will give away the country just to please Trump. Despite all the public poll manipulations favoring the PPP party, that other Maggots have posted here, Lee is going to win in a landslide, the real public polls show.
The US wants Korea to pick up the bill for the $44 billion project for the Alaskan gas pipeline, thereby bringing thousands of jobs for Americans and billions in cash every year.

As I said before, Korea knows already that EXXon Mobile marked this project as economically unfeasible.
But the US thinks South Korea is a sucker. Even if the project is somehow approved (which would be really dumb if some Korean government approves this), it will take years and years to complete, long after Trump is dead. By then, this project can be shelved quietly.
South Korea however, will benefit majorly by cooperating with Canada in exporting gas from the new, giant, Kitimat, British Columbia gas facility, which should start exporting gas any day now.
