The Chinese buy original replacement microphone cartridges and machine copycat housings. The scolds will tell you the housings are inferior becasue reasons. With modern CNC manufacturing, they are likely indistinguishable. Or maybe the Chinese are subsidizing the world microphone market by reselling $200 microphones for twenty bucks. Or maybe a North Korea just bought some “sanctioned” microhones at Audio Shack and put them in his suitcase with a grin. And maybe the UN was… “We have sanctioned uranium, whiskey, screwdrivers, food, and medicine. What is next?” “We haven’t done zipties, shoelaces, Star Wars bobbleheads, microphones, or white chocolate crossbows.” “Make it happen.” ChickenHead 2 years ago Ha! Looked it up.
