Stephen, your statement is 100% true in 1994.
…somewhat less in 2004… even less in 2014… and much less now.
Since the Korea Me Too Wave, those mythical Asian values have slipped by the wayside in a number of different ways.
If a woman is qualified and competent, she will be taken seriously. But Korea is not yet to the point of promoting incompetent women to signal some sort of imaginary virtue.
Women are not equally represented at glass ceiling levels because it means giving up their dream of motherhood… not the reproduction-and-forget part but the actual mothering of children which is an important part of Korean culture.
A voluntary culture of men being hunters and women being gatherers is probably a very good thing.
Tell that bullshìt to my wife.
