Picture of the Day: Damaged Restaurant Sector

An employee sorts chairs collected from defunct restaurants at a second-hand kitchenware shop in Ansan, south of Seoul, on Aug. 10, 2021. The number of employees in the restaurant sector covered by employment insurance fell 2.3 percent from a year earlier to 647,000 in July, amid drops in sales hit by strengthened social distancing rules that resulted from a new wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Protip for statistics collectors: a large percentage of restaurant workers are under-the-table and not reflected in this statistic.
If only the people could wake up and see the trap they’re allowing themselves to lay down in.
I am happy to see society move to this New Normal.
The Ruling Elite are going to get more bold… such as Obama’s Private Jet Maskless Super Spreader Birthday Party, amid cries of covid and global warming… which served the purpose to remind everyone that you are not Them.
And the Worthless and Dependent and Entitled and Outraged are going to just get by… which is no way to live life… and they will be miserable… and they fùcking deserve it.
And the truly productive minority with skills that keep civilization functioning will be able to live a decent life… and perhaps thrive if they are smart.
I know my place in all this.
And I have no pity for those who brought it upon us for the sake of instant emotional gratification without understanding what they were doing… and who refused to listen to those who could see what was coming.
Keep watching that teevee and smoking that pot.
It’s now officially out. ChickenHead is a restaurant owner.
I’m flattered that your opinion of me is high enough you didn’t accuse me of being a restaurant worker.
Ben Franklin said, “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
Millions of Americans now fully understand what Franklin meant.
“Millions of Americans now fully understand what Franklin meant.”
Sadly, millions don’t.
Neither do the dead.
Unfortunately, both groups vote.
Well, we found out that it really isn’t those who vote but those who count the votes, at least in Arizona and Georgia. We’ll find out more about the orhwr states eventually.
We’ve already found out. It’s utter nonsense that “the election was stolen”.
“It’s utter nonsense that “the election was stolen”.”
And it’s also baffling that anyone with an IQ over 10 still believes it was.
How about that pillow guy? LOL
Glad to see the Tencent detail is on duty today.
You guys are probably right.
That’s why Democrats, RINOs, voting machine companies, and the Biden administration are really working around the clock to open all the records to show those Trumptards and staticians what an overwhelming victory Biden had with the full support of the tens of people at his rallies.
Only dummies would think there is something shady with all this willingness to show the clear victory.
How about that pillow guy? LOL
David Hogg?
He’s not the pillow guy anymore. RBF doesn’t market well it would seem. Even to woke scolds.
“It’s now officially out. ChickenHead is a restaurant owner.”
Heh.. CH run an establishment… that serves food, drink, and good times?
The idea is preposterous. 😉
Wait. Seems like I remember stories…
Ha! I had a restaurant for a number of years… worked 13 hour days, 7 days a week, for the first 3 months it was open.
After that, I just stopped by to keep an eye on things and collect the money.
You boys can keep that restaurant work.
Also: Thousands of dollars come in each day. Then everyone gets paid. And then the weekly supplier bill gets paid. Then rent and utilities come up. And when the bills stop trickling in and you look at your pile of money, VAT is due.
Pretty soon, you wonder with the time and effort and marketing and constant staff turnover of young part-timers and burned out manager who deserves a raise and maintaining an all-knowing oversight, and a million other things that you are putting into it all, as well as having to work a day way too often, maybe if you put this much effort into something actually fun or interesting, you could make the same money but enjoy life a little more.
Soooo… you get out the calculator and sell that at a fair price and get a bag of money without the year of hassle associated with it… with a warning that greed will drive off the good manager and the group of tight ajumas in the kitchen and not attract pretty girls on the floor willing to work hard… and they don’t listen… but it is not your problem.
And as luck would have it, you get a call from an old friend with a very interesting job who needs a lackey he can count on. Pretty soon you are a henchman due to stellar performance.
And you don’t look back.
Except the manager comes to you wanting to open his own place… and two of the kitchen ajumas do the same… and suddenly you are back in the business… but you don’t have to ever work… or care… just drop by for a meal and collect your pocket money and avoid resentment and generate value by making their business a success by doing things for them they can’t do.
But you are not an owner.
David Hogg? And now it’s time for the lunatic conspiracy theory gish gallop.
CH, that’s the story! Might be fun to hear the full story over seasonally-appropriate beverages some time.
And China John(henry) musta fergot about little piggy’s failed pillow company–plus the last bit sounds a bit lame considering who brought up pillows…
Almost as if he also fergot which sockpuppet he was usin’…
