Picture of the Day: Artists Pose with Kim Jong-un

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un (C) poses with a group of state-honored writers and artists in Pyongyang on July 11, 2021, in this photo provided by the Korean Central News Agency. (For Use Only in the Republic of Korea. No Redistribution) (Yonhap)

Hey hey…
The photo’s footnote clearly states: “For Use Only in the Republic of Korea. No Redistribution”
I’m telling.
Zoom in on his face.
I’m no artist, versed in the complex interplay between light and shadow, but I notice everyone has clear overhead lighting upon their faces while he looks like he put on an entire jar of foundation and crawled into a light box.
If I were to guess, I would say the contours of his face with overhead lighting are less than flattering so someone at the Ministry of History and Airbrushing thought they were doing him a favor.
Instead… well… load up the anti-aircraft gun.
someone at the Ministry of History and Airbrushing thought they were doing him a favor.
Wonder if he’ll be able to makeup for this mistake?
(bah bum bump) 🙂
If he gives any lip, stick him with the blame.
For some odd reason, Fatty III there in the middle reminds me of Howard the Duck
But not in a good way…
