So if the balloon goes up before April 27, all troops have to go into battle wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing? I’d bet those blue masks will make real fine aiming points…

I’m going to guess that more USFK personnel have been killed by taxis while naked than have died from covid… and more dependents have been killed by their husbands than by the virus.

Actually, I’m not guessing.

We had an impromptu meeting with our director yesterday morning where he announced that one of our coworkers passed away from Covid Friday night. He was 51 and had no prior health issues.

What gets me is this is no longer an “emergency”, thus the PHE is being abused and has been since it was extended the first time. I’ll half-way concede the first issuance was maybe justified (OUT OF AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION), but to continue extending it — only means there are no other tools in the toolbox. There’s no declaration for a Public Health MATTER or Public Health CONCERN; only an emergency. Or it’s not.

And it’s not.

“one of our coworkers passed away from Covid Friday night.”

As of right now (Tuesday), Korea has had 1435 total covid deaths since this whole thing kicked off. That’s not very many deaths in a country of 51,710,000 people. It would be quite coincidental to actually know OF a victim, let alone work with a victim.

Interestingly, pedestrian deaths in Korea range between 1300 and 1500 per year, though higher in past years.

Just out of curiosity, how many of your coworkers are killed by a vehicle in the street every year or in total?

I’m just trying to determine if you should buy a lottery ticket or if you might be pulling our leg a bit.

“He was 51 and had no prior health issues.”

In an even more shocking abuse of probability statistics, of the people who die from covid, only about 6% have no (known) comorbidities. This number may be much smaller for those under 65.

Son, I think you found yourself a unicorn.

Or you are telling a fib in an attempt to justify your wishful narrative that really isn’t backed up by reality.

A bit more to add…

“As of January 26, 2021, around 83.6 percent of the patients who died from novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in South Korea were aged 70 years or older.”

Wow… that doesn’t leave much room for healthy 51 year-olds. Let’s see how many of them died.

“50-59 years: 3.28%”

My calculator tells me, as of today, Korea has had <47 deaths of 51 year-olds… and, based on established statistics, 6% of those were (thought to be) healthy…

Soooooo… 2.8 healthy 51 year-olds have died in Korea in the year since corona arrived.

And out of ~52 million people, you just happen to know one who conviently backs your desire to spread fear.

Amazing.

Sorry Chickendead.

He was 51 and was healthy. I know that doesn’t fit your narrative but it’s so. I have no reason to lie. Sure, it’s better in Japan and Korea because they’re taking this seriously unlike in the states, where Trump totally screwed it up. Thank God we finally have an adult in the white house.

BTW, I’m pretty sure I met you back in the day, when you tried to have a bar at the Hump. Kind of a skinny, wimpy guy, the type we called “fag” when passing in our car back in the day. No fault of your own, your Mom chose who she chose to copulate with. Us soldiers, back then, wanted nothing to do with your ilk. You were all about milking us for every penny possible. So stop blaming Osan and Lt Davis 😉

Ever noticed how easily leftists slip back into homophobic insults, slut-shaming, and other neanderthal behavior? I blame the lead-based paint they stiff gobble.

When my mom comes in to the conversation, I know the debate is over, for I have clearly won.
