Traffic ahead of Chuseok holiday
This aerial photo, taken from a Seoul Police Agency helicopter on Sept. 29, 2020, shows southbound lanes of the Seoul-Busan highway in Yongin, south of Seoul, backed up with cars as the annual rush of travelers heading to their hometowns and resort areas began ahead of Chuseok, the Korean harvest holiday that falls on Oct. 1 this year and is part of a five-day break. The government has discouraged people from visiting their hometowns for the holiday amid concerns about the spread of the new coronavirus. Transportation authorities said the number of travelers to their hometowns is projected to fall about 30 percent from a year ago to 27.59 million during the holiday period. (Yonhap)
