I think the bigger story in this article is:

“Four days later, around 100 North Korean laborers in Kuwait rose up against the state security agents who keep constant watch on them.”

But since defection of overseas workers is the flavor of the day (after those 13 defected in China), two more workers defecting got the headline instead.

#1 – I agree with you. The uprising and the near-lynching of the foreman are the real story here. It’s interesting that North Koreans working outside of North Korea are beginning to figure it out… They don’t have to put up with the nonsense if they’re willing to do something about it. They’ll have more uprisings and mass defections in the future. They can’t send their workers out into the world without having this kind of thing happen. It’s only a matter of time before word of these events makes it back to the homeland.
