Japan’s Ruling Party Loses Majority After Recent Upper House Election; Japan First Party Sees Major Gains
A MAGA like movement is growing in Japan which became more evident after their recent upper house election that saw the ruling LDP lose majorities in both houses for the first time since 1955:

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba’s ruling coalition failed Monday to secure a majority in the 248-seat upper house in a crucial parliamentary election, NHK public television said.
Ishiba’s Liberal Democratic Party and its junior coalition partner Komeito needed to win 50 seats on top of the 75 seats they already have to retain their majority. With just one more seat to be decided, the coalition had 47 seats.
The loss is another blow to Ishiba’s coalition, making it a minority in both houses following its October defeat in the lower house election, and worsening Japan’s political instability. It was the first time the LDP has lost a majority in both houses of parliament since the party’s foundation in 1955.
It looks like if Prime Minister Ishiba wants to create a new coalition he is going to have to change government policy to address the concerns of the Sanseito party which saw massive gains in this election:
The emerging populist party Sanseito stands out with the toughest anti-foreigner stance, with its “Japanese First” platform that proposes a new agency to handle policies related to foreigners. The party’s populist platform also includes anti-vaccine, anti-globalism and favors traditional gender roles.
Conservative opposition groups, especially the DPP and Sanseito, gained significant ground at the Liberal Democrats’ expense, while the centrist top opposition CDPJ was sluggish. The DPP quadrupled to 17 seats from four, according to interim results reported by Japanese media. Sanseito surged to 14 from just one.
You can read more at the link, but of course the media is claiming that Sanseito is xenophobic for wanting to limit immigration to protect Japanese culture.

It’s because they are? Did you know that one of their claims is that if you eat bread (wheat), you’ll get cancer, so you should eat rice only? Japan First party will be bad news for you guys as well. They want a harder push back against Trump’s America – you’ll no longer see Japan being a door-mat to you guys. That means they will threaten to sell their investment in America to crash your dollar and your bonds – if they don’t get concessions from you. It’s not a total shock when a country of radicals encourages more radicalism from other countries that are sick of your radicalism. I’ll just sit back and watch this new spectacle.
Good.. we need the MAGA movement in Japan and South Korea ASAP!
“That means they will threaten to sell their investment in America to crash your dollar and your bonds”
If by investments you mean bonds…
The US debt situation is not good, but the Japanese situation is about twice as bad. Most Japanese bonds are held by Japanese, same with how American bonds are mostly held by Americans. These are fairly isolated markets percentage wise. Selling US bonds would not cause a major shift in the market. It would however majorly reduce yields the Japanese investors (banks) can expect because their own bonds are practically at negative rates. It’s more likely to crash the Yen than the $. It would also invite futher economic retaliation but that’s a whole ‘nother post.
No doubt the Setnaffarians are wanking at the thought of a far right party gaining ground in Japan.
But as we all know, the far right and the right itself are well known for ruining things.
The Japanese, being smarter than the hillbilly MAGA and Setnaffarians, know this.
That’s why we won’t see the Japan First party gaining more ground.
The Japan First Party gaining 12 seats is a result of a few angry Japanese who were miffed by some rude Chinese and White tourists.
The majority don’t trust them and it shows in the voting results.
I don’t want the far right party gaining ground in Japan.
That would give them nationalistic strength again.
Things would get ugly as their influence spread throughout Asia once they were unencumbered by globalism and libtardization.
Eventually, they would have to be put back in their place with nukes and a liberal government reinstalled.
I’m with the Korea Things on this one.
Japan are the correct thinking of Asia
@Chickenhead, I don’t see Sanseito ever getting popular enough to seize power in Japan. Things would have to get real bad for that to happen. If they did seize power it could lead to the end of USFJ because some in Saneito have called for removing US troops and building a stronger Japanese military. Where they would get the money to replace what the US military provides however is just wishful thinking on their part.
However, Sanseito does serve a function of forcing the LDP to course correct on some of their globalism initiatives such as immigration. That is the top issue that caused them to win so many seats.
Agree.
The growing popularity of the fAr RiGhT in many countries is serving as a counterbalance to forced globalization which is (maybe) intended to bring up the undeveloped world at the expense of the developed world’s middle class.
It is a project doomed to fail because much of the undeveloped world remains undeveloped due to a culture of failure rather than a lack of resources.
So the results of the wealth transfer from the global middle class to the poor benefits functional cultures like China but not dysfunctional ones like Afghanistan.
The next tactic becomes forced immigration of the most dysfunctional to disrupt functional cultures.
Hopefully, the fAr RiGhT will stop this with a bit of political power.
The other option is they get more power and they solve the problem.
That seems better in theory than in history.
Things are getting bad in Japan, the globalist have gotten to the long ruling party and mass migration of jihadist is about to start; small groups of kurds are already causing huge problems. Time for the Japan first group to seize power. (Don’t forget Abe was assassinated for refusing the globalist faux vax.)
