Bet they are number 1 in Japanese proficiency. Meanwhile with US Department of Education in place: Overall, just 37% of 12th-graders reached or exceeded the academic preparedness benchmarks for both math and reading. Since the inception of the Federal Dept of Ed education quality and outcomes have fallen year after year.

America has a division in society.

It can be blamed on income, race, “education” or some other classification that supports some political agenda.

But the reality is that it is based on usefulness.

Maybe rapping and living the thug life instead of learning to read will pay off. Probably not.

Maybe a quarter million dollars of ivy league education in comparative medieval lesbian poetry will pay off. Probably not.

America has a class of smart, educated, capable, useful people.

And America has a lot of useless things that aren’t full people, yet seem to have influence beyond their utility. And they sure feel entitled.

In China, their Kardashian is Elon Musk.

In America, their Kardashian is a Kardashian and Elon Musk is a stupid loser who has a long list of flaws, unlike George Floyd.

But this is good.

Somebody needs to wipe down the robot that serves me my fries.

There is a whole class of sub-people with no skills and no useful education that are going to be very disappointed in the coming decade.

There are also going to be disappointed people who have education and skills… but the wrong ones in the coming world.

Looks like South Korea is the second highest Asian country behind Hong Kong. That’s not bad, considering the historical influence of English in both countries.
