South Korea Records 2nd Highest Daily COVID Infection Rate
It looks like we are going to find out how committed the ROK government is to their new “Living with COVID” strategy as cases continue to rise:
South Korea’s daily new coronavirus cases spiked to surpass the 3,000 mark Wednesday, just shy of an all-time high, health authorities said, deepening concerns over medical capacity amid the continued surge in critical cases.
The country reported 3,187 new COVID-19 cases, including 3,163 local infections, raising the total caseload to 402,775, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA).
Wednesday’s figure, a sharp hike from 2,125 cases the previous day, is the second-largest figure after the all-time high of 3,270 reported on Sept. 25. It is also the second time ever that the country’s daily caseload hovered over 3,000.
The number of critically ill COVID-19 patients hit an all-time high of 522 on Wednesday, breaking the previous record of 495 a day earlier, the KDCA said.
The health authorities earlier said that they can manage around up to 500 critically ill patients in a stable manner under the current medical capacity.
The country added 21 more deaths from COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 3,158. The fatality rate stood at 0.78 percent.

IMO, the numbers aren’t that high and there’s nothing to panic about.
But the Korean government is scared shitless of being criticized by the media and public opinion, that they will probably not hesitate to turn back the clock should they feel turning back the clock is more beneficial in terms of deflecting media criticism and public opinion.
But then, this is election season and pissing off restaurant and bar owners, and ordinary citizens who are enjoying that bit of freedom when it comes to going out and enjoying themselves to the wee hours may not be that beneficial either.

Given the only proven immunity to COVID-19 is in those who have had it and recovered… well, nothing else will work…
What part of “going viral” is too difficult for folks to understand?
The so-called vaccines do not prevent catching or spreading the disease. And we’ve seen a lot about the negative side-effects.
Cheap Chinese face-masks are useless against the disease as well. And practically no one wears them properly.
There will always be a new reason for the government to take away your liberties. If you allow it.

Dear Comrade Setnaffova really needs to get a life.
The guy is so obsessed about proving that his theories regarding the pandemic are correct that he spends the entire day in front of his computer watching the ROK Drop and posting incoherent comments.
It seems that his favorite case country is Sweden, even though anyone with a brain and the Swedes themselves admit that the Swedish method did not work.
He should go out and see how the real world works instead of letting right wing Youtubers cloud and control his mind.
