U.S. State Department Signals It May Not Be Supporting President Moon’s End of War Declaration

Here is some possible good news that the Biden administration may not actually be preparing to go along with the Moon administration’s attempt to declare an end to the Korean War:

American officials have started calling the end-of-war declaration, a signature diplomatic goal of the Moon Jae-in administration, an end-of-war statement, which may not be good news for Seoul.

“’Declaration’ or ‘statement,’ what really matters is what is stated inside,” a former diplomat told the JoongAng Ilbo on Monday. “But still, calling it a statement instead of a declaration does appear to lower its official standing.”

Semantics are always important in diplomacy, and this choice of words seems to signify a reluctance by the U.S. to sign on to the idea, or its intention to downplay it.

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman was one of the first to refer to the declaration as a statement on Nov. 17.

Easy solution.

If Moon tries to go all hippy peacenik, find some excuse to blow something up in North Korea.

I heard they have lots of yellowcake uranium.

And they still are part of the Axis of Evil.

Never forget 9/11.

Maybe someone woke up and figure what this would really mean.

This makes it official. America wants a forever war on the Korean peninsula to feed its military. There’s no end in sight. The US isn’t giving up its military base in South Korea, that easily. The US policymakers really should read Doug Bandow’s articles and follow his advice. I can’t think of any other country other than South Korea which doesn’t even have the right to sign an end of war declaration, let alone, have its own military under South Korean command. What other country is like this, where the US dictates when and how South Korea goes to war?

KM, you hate the US so much, you should go back to speaking Japanese like you were before we showed up.

You’re welcome, by the way.

When confronted with unpleasant facts, personal insults are thrown.

So do you honestly think Doug Bandow also hates America?

Douglas Bandow is an American political writer, currently working as a Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute. In 2005, Bandow was forced to resign from the Cato Institute after it was revealed that for over ten years, he accepted payments in exchange for publishing articles favorable to various clients.Wikipedia

So yes, I do think Mr. Bandow hates the USA.
