She’s entitled to her opinion, I swore an oath a long time ago for her to have that right. But she needs to learn the correct symbolism of the US flag, and my opinion is MarketWatch needs to stick to financial news not the opinion of a misinformed singer.

The Juneteenth Holiday declaration came too late for USFK to observe on Friday. It was already Friday in GMT+9. USFK will observe on Monday.

A BBC correspondent on the G7 summit, “America is back”.

Me: WTF!?! If you mean back in the hands of the Chinese, Russians, and Iranians, well then, sure.

“Do you have anything to say abou the “Blue Lives Matter” flag?”

Adulterating the American flag is not the proper way to express that sentiment.

“Jürgen Conings, the runaway Belgian soldier who announced plans to assassinate virologists, found dead. He reportedly killed himself more than a month ago at the start of the manhunt.”

He didn’t even get a single lying virologist.

Hopefully, someone takes up where he left off as a warning to future virologists.

CH, are we getting th Belgian Rambo’s story from the same people who used to say the Soviets would eventually take over Europe? Or from the people who said COVID-19 was a racist hoax?

BTW, I agree with you about folks who desecrate the flag for any purpose.

Flags, and symbols in general, are important.

They represent shared values and unity of purpose. They can indicate who is on the team and who is not.

While American flags in pride colors or with blue lines are not the end of the world when done to express having American values and having a special interest within those values, it would be a greater sign of respect to fly an unadulterated American flag in conjunction with a special flag representing the special interest.

It would be nice if everyone could see unity under the flag and appreciate the American values that brings freedom and prosperity when all Americans work together.

I’m okay with that very American approach. US flag on top, Texas flag under that, then whatever flag they want to fly under that.

Alternately, different flagpoles in the proper order of deference.

But I keep hearing “The Fightin’ Side Of Me” in the background when people disrespect the flag that grants them the freedom to express their opinions, however wrong. That song, in fact, is a big pRt of why the setnaffa household keeps no firearms. I might use it in a perfectly reasonable cause and then regret it for the rest of my life. Much the same as if I had misused it.

No, I won’t be doing any yeeting at the boog. I may sit at home in a Hawaiian shirt in mute sympathy, depending on what actually starts it; but I won’t lift a finger for or against either side.

I might pray against their cause (some of the Psalms have marvelous examples) and for them to be saved before they die (and that it won’t be a horrifying, lingering, painful death like cancer of the ‘nads – like the King Herod who killed all the young children of Bethlehem); but I won’t be yeeting anything physical or even shouting at them.

Your mileage may vary. Not guaranteed to prevent Winnie the Flu. Offer not valid outside the State of Texas. Not certified by the FDA.

Johnhenry it seems others have expressed better opinions on flags, but since you seem to be so interested as a former firefighter I’m kind of Red Lives Matter flag guy. That said, we flew US flags on the back of each of our engines and truck, years before 9/11/2001. Currently I fly the red, white & blue of the Dutch flag as prescribed by Dutch flag laws.

I can’t help but notice that members of the Korean Left paint themselves as the nice guys, who are well mannered, and the ones who truly understand the people.

But in reality, they are the same power and money hungry bunch who are more interested in using their position to enrich themselves and their comrades. They also don’t care about how the people feel and expect the people to agree and embrace their anti-Japan, anti-US, nationalist and leftist ideals. If one were to correct them especially their anti-Japan rhetoric, they will jump on you and explain for hours why you are wrong. Then they will turn around smile and act nice especially to the people who agree with them and whom they need to achieve their goals.

OK the PPP are the same, but at the least with them you don;t expect them to be nice and they make no pretense that they are nice.
