The Chinese had unfinished business with Taiwan. Kim Il Sung beat them to the punch and got Russia to agree on the invasion after misreading U.S. policy.
If anything, the Chinese lost the initiative after the invasion, knowing that the U.S. would never stomach a loss of both South Korea and Taiwan.
