anadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Wednesday tweeted a video clip of himself expressing gratitude to a Korean emergency firefighting team who helped his country deal with raging wildfires.

“This morning in Ottawa, I got to send off an incredible group of people. They came from Korea and spent the last few weeks battling wildfires in Quebec,” Trudeau said in the video message posted on social media. “On behalf of all Canadians ― I thanked them for their heroic work.”
The Korea Disaster Relief Team (KDRT), comprised of 151 personnel from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Korea Forest Service, the National Fire Agency and the medical sector, arrived in Lebel-sur-Quevillon, Quebec, on July 2. Two days later, they began a month-long mission fighting the natural disaster that prompted the Quebec provincial government to declare a state of emergency.

This is a pretty freak fire that has unfortunately taken the life of a Seoul firefighter:
The Seohae Grand Bridge, a major artery connecting southwestern cities and Seoul, was shut down after three of its cables were damaged in a fire Thursday evening.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on Friday that it will suspend use of the bridge through Dec. 24 to replace the cables.
Authorities said one firefighter was killed and two others wounded when they were hit by a snapped cable while battling the blaze.
An official of the ministry said lightning was the cause of the fire.
“Despite the inconvenience, our decision was made for the public’s safety,” the official said at a televised press conference. [Joong Ang Ilbo]

Firefighters chosen as calendar models put on a performance with musical stars in downtown Seoul on Nov. 16, 2015. The calendar will be available for sale until Dec. 6 through online shopping malls, and all proceeds from sales will be donated for the treatment of burn victims. (Yonhap)
